Just needs to be fun really, i'm not really interested in a depressed spy being miserable. Thats partly to do with the whole storyline followed through from Casino Royale is just dull what happened to single adventures?

This write up from David Mitchell sums it up well.

The Roger Moore outings were 'fun' but also, in the main, were largely rubbish

I thought it was a good film and a great end to Craig's run in the part.
I do think you have to really watch all of them to get the most out of this film though.

Im looking forward to the re-boot which I would expect to take a step away for the serious broading hero with bagage to a step back to the Bonds of the past.

Indeed, Craig's Bond was influenced heavily by Bourne. New one just needs to be fun rather than depressed.

At least you knew what the baddie in Moonraker wanted, dont have a clue was current baddie wanted.

I agree with you Jez not a Daniel Craig fan, he is just above Lazenby as worst Bond for me. Want the films to be fun, loved the gadgets, so was glad to see some in this film.

I also don't but into all this Bourne guff, yes that's what they did, tried to be like Bourne, and that's their excuse. But what made Bourne good was not that it was gritty but that he was always ten steps ahead of everyone, and seeing his plan play out and how he ran circles around people, that's what made Bourne fun and a great success and personally feel they missed the boat on this and got totally the wrong message.
