Lens Repair

Post by dvds2000 »

Been through the past few years posts and couldn't find anything but who would people rec for a lens repair?

Don't mind posting but would prefer to take it in personally if amnyone knows anyone in sunderland, durham, newcastle or surrounding areas.

Sigma 28-300 canon fit lens, the zoom is borked, the rings turn fine, if i pull the lens it comes out smoothly so not stuck (that seems a common problem) only thing I can see is the 'lock' button doesn't seem to do anything at all so presume that is stuck. If I have pulled the lens out it autofocuses and everything fune.

Of course it couldn't do it on a cheap £40 lens could it lol.

Anyone know whats wrong with it too?

TIA

I don't have any ideas I'm afraid.

I'm interested myself though. I have a Sigma 105mm macro which I have to use in manual focus since the AF is broken.

Anyone have experience of repairing lenses? Is it worth it?

Contact the manufacture direct and post it back to them, best way. If you take it to a camera shop they will just do the same but will add on their costs as well.
