Memory card corrupted

Post by nutter45 »

It looks as though my memory card (ms pro duo) has been corrupted during a camera failure.

When I plug it into a card reader it's not showing any photos, albeit I can see from available storage that a big chunk of data is there. I tried sticking it into the new camera and all the photos are there and viewable through the camera, but again not uploadable, which is a bit puzzling.

Any suggestions as to how to recover would be very, very gratefully received.

Also try in a different card reader.
I assume by not uploadable you have tried plugging the camera in directly via usb cable and transferring that way?

All important data is backed up. If you didn't back it up it wasn't important

Thanks, will try that tonight.

Yes, the usual method I use is USB from camera to PC.

Solved it by going into boots and burning on to a couple of CDs :)

Is it CF or SD ?

If CF look for bent pins in card reader.

What new camera ?

Do you need drivers for Camera, hence it's not recognising it so can't use it.
