This has been delayed. Not sure if that means it'll still be free at some point in the future.

Instead this week we get Dungeons 3.

Next week is The Textorcist.

Has anyone managed to play Elite Dangerous yet ? First I had to create an account but the link it gives you to create an account just kept telling me the token was invalid. I created teh account myself and then was prompted to link it to my epic account so I did that and then the game launched. I got the initial hardware settings but and the loading shaders bit and then the game tried to launch and failed as it couldnt communicate with the server and now every time I try it tells me it needs an update. I've followed the update instructions but it still says it needs an update.

so far not a good introduction to the new Elite

I had problems yesterday too saying I need to purchase it and then saying it needed an update after I linked my account so I gave up. Working fine this morning though.

These are now available.

Next week:
Also starting December 17, we’ll be giving away a new game each day for two weeks straight - that’s right, it’s 15 Days of Free Games! Each game will be free to claim for just 24 hours, but they’re yours to keep forever.

By my count thats 160 free games so far
I keep grabbing them

Still dont get their business model.
I assume they want an installed base.
I assume when things are free we must be swapping privacy or something.
If you really wanted to screw me up. You should have got to me earlier.

They are going to be giving away 1 game a day from Dec 17 for a few days, the idea is it gets people interested in games and to buy more from that developer, i.e. give away The Division just before launching The Division 2 will increase people who might be interested, or people might buy DLCs

Exactly. Red Dead Redemption 2 just released online only version for pennies. GTA5 was free for a time to uplift the online presence and now its quite cheap to buy.

DLCs, addons, in-game purchases is what its all about now. Epic games mastered this with Fortnite, so not hard for them to sell that model to other games developers.

My Epic Games Library looks ridiculous. All mostly free or games that cost a couple of pounds during sales with £10 off coupons. Don't even play them.

Also worth pointing out that they're doing the £10 coupons again for the current Holiday Sale.

You get your first £10 coupon just by claiming a free game. The coupons apply to any game that is £13.99 or more, and you get another £10 coupon on those purchases. So basically you get £10 off on games that are £13.99 or more.
