Yeah it's bad for a premium channel like this to show ads especially during green flag running :(

Apparently Sky had tech problems preventing the UK commentary from being inserted but it's not excuse for these ads.

Must admit I have very little idea what's actually going on strategy wise in this race!

Thanks for your e-mail regarding adverts on the subscription channel Sky Sports F1.

As we are not funded by a licence fee, for many satellite channels, not just Sky channels, advertising is a necessary form of revenue which enables Sky and independents alike to keep costs to a minimum and, by investing the revenue accrued from both advertising and subscriptions, further expansion of channels, on demand and other services can be implemented.

I am sorry if the adverts are causing frustration. Viewer feedback is important and we are glad you have taken the time to let us know your views in relation to this.

Your comments have been logged and thanks again for your e-mail to Sky.

Best Wishes,
Kerry

Running ads in the middle of a live event on a premium sports channel like that :( Hopefully it's back to normal this week with the UK commentary in breaks too.

Bit of a mishap for Grosjean yesterday! https://twitter.com/JennaFryer/status/1 ... 5698101249

He said in the intro he'd talk us through the majority of US breaks. Hopefully they've got all the ads out of the way now until after the race... we'll see...

Ads are back and now Zack’s day goes from bad to worse.

Over here I have grown to hate Rutledge Wood, these “Color” (no U as it’s ‘mercian) pieces he does drive me up the wall.
