Heh, well in claiming the largest unfinished city I think you managed to stop me winning, so maybe it wasn't all for nothing!

Happy to give Ascension a go as well, though I've never played it.

I don't have TTR on iPad, but up for more games of the non-buggy one and maybe I'll buy the iPad version if it'll get used enough.

Joober, we could do a two-player Carcassonne with an expansion or two if no one else wants in?

Also, I did end up buying Agricola. Now I just need to learn how to play!

Cool. I have all the expansions so don't mind which we play. Feel free to start a game with your choice!

I downloaded Ascension last night if you wanted to get a game going Steve.

Me too, although I did zone out and switch it off after five minutes of tutorial. I'll figure it out...

Haha I did the same! Hoping it'll make more sense playing it for real.

Trying to get my head around Agricola too...

If you're trying Agricola, make sure you hit the question mark top left to turn on the text versions of what each space does what. I think it may default to the pictorial option which whilst pretty, ain't easy to understand.

Good tip, I'll try that too. I lost track of what was happening very quickly.

I need your Playdek usernames, unless you just add me instead: Stejay.

The game is pretty straight-forward even though it has taken almost four years of owning it for me to finally get into playing it! It is kind of a Magic: The Gathering / Dominion hybrid.

Ah, I'd assumed it was Game Center. Will sign up later and let you know.

I've created a family game of Agricola, and invited Stejay and Spatho. It doesn't use occupations or minor improvements and simplifies some of the worker options.

Good way of learning the mechanics.

Happy to set up another game if anyone else interested.

Not sure what happening in Ascension, Steve. It just kept telling me it was my turn again and again. A bug maybe?

Ah, was it the game clock that ran out? I assumed that it was the time available between moves but maybe its total play time? Next time I'll set it to maximum!

Ah, must be that. Seems all ok now. What do you think of it anyway?

I'm enjoying it. But it's quite simplistic, or the way I'm playing it is anyway. Maybe it gets a lot more depth once you know the cards better but at the moment it seems like you banish/discard as many cards as you can based on what you've drawn, and repeat. What do you think?

It's a weird one. It's ok, I guess. I feel like I'm supposed to love it and I'm really trying but I still can't quite fully connect with it. I had the same problem when I first got the app four years or so ago, although I am playing it more now to see if it finally clicks. Maybe, as with other digital ports I'm unfamiliar with, I need to play the physical version to fully get it.
