Episode 2 was just amazing brilliant TV. The character of Roy Kent deserves to be up there with the great comic TV characters.

'Tis a glorious show. Just a shame we can't binge the lot in one sitting.

It is. I discovered it late last year, so could do so on season 1.

Yeah I'm trying to wait for the more of the episodes to be released before I start on season 2.

I love this too.

Impossible not to smile throughout, particularly at Roy.

I've been listening to Brett Goldstein's podcasts (films to be buried with) which are very good.

He really does deepen his voice a lot to play Roy.

Yep, just absolutely lovely. A bit odd watching a Christmas episode in August & pretty much nothing important happened (though at one point I was quite convinced they were going to give Higgins a heart attack during his party), but just a delight to watch.

Plus, Keeley's christmas outfit. :n0rty:

It's perfect. I read a review yesterday that said that:
[SHOW]
virtually no show could get away with Santa's sleigh overhead
That's entirely true.

So many moments, I almost watched it again immediately. Paw Patrol dogs ;)

Ted's feel-good fluffiness is what really sells the show for me, but I think it almost went too far. And I hope that new title sequence was a one-off. I still love it to bits though.

I imagine it will be. I presumed it was a homage to the old Rankin/Bass stop-motion Christmas specials.

I'm not familiar with those, but on rewatch I realised the credits are all xmassy, so you're probably right.

I'm sure they're going to introduce some conflict - it can't go on being this fluffy.
[SHOW]
I think there'll be massive fallout from Sam's stance with the sponsors. I'm pretty sure the voice on the phone to Rebecca was Bill Paterson, and I can't see him being hired for a minute of voice work.

There will always be conflict in the show but it's unlikely to last long or be very dark. It's not that sort of show.

Besides, we know
[SHOW]
they get to the FA cup final (trailer 2) so that's not really a spoiler and an upwards trajectory.
I also predict that:
[SHOW]
they will be sponsored by "Bantr" (the dating app)

I haven't seen any trailers, so I didn't know that. Besides, there was conflict all the way through season 1 with, among other things, Rebecca trying to run the club into the ground.

The show is perfect, episode 5 is sublime. But I think I can see what’s coming and what the 3 season story is.

I agree with that. This absurdly entertaining show raises 'feelgood' to new heights.

And two lines in particular almost had me coughing wine all over the place:
[SHOW]
Ted to Nate: 'I gave you an indoor whistle'.

And Nate calling Keeley a dithering kestrel (I think that's what he said).

I'm going to run out of superlatives to describe this show soon. I didn't think it could get any more uplifting than last week, but the near-constant homages to (& direct lifts from) rom-coms was just joyous.

Plus Keeley's reaction after seeing Rebecca's power move:
[SHOW]
**** you're amazing. Let's invade France.

I wonder how Jeff and Chris (Sky) felt about Roy's speech? I mean, that's pretty close to the bone. Fair play to them both.

Nothing they haven't heard/seen on social media a thousand times. They get paid very well for their judgements so I doubt they care.
