Me too actually... I was going to wait for the 2019 sets but this is a lot of telly for 1300 quid!

The only thing holding me back from getting one of these is that I'd have to update my amp as well.

I just don't know if it;s worth stumping up a bit more and going for a QLED (OLED screen burn still worries me though they're beautiful in action).

You're looking at the Q8DN or Q9FN for a superior QLED and those are around £550 to £700 more (even more on the 65 Q9FN). Anything else in the QLED range doesn't compete IMO (though they all offer better input lag and forward looking gaming features).

You do currently get a Samsung S9 phone to offset some of that cost but it's still a fair bit extra.

I have the amp issue as well. Every time I start thinking "now's the time to buy a new TV" I remember I'll need an amp as well. I can't even just use ARC and have the amp solely for HD audio as it's just old enough it doesn't support it.

oh right of course standard ARC doesn't do HD audio so yeah, that wouldn't work even if my current amp did support it.

I bought the 49inch version not long ago. Solid TV! Consistently recommended as best in its range.

I also considered OLED but I've heard of problems with screen burn and of course it costs a lot more for a decent model.

The input lag is slightly higher for 1080p output than others in the similar range, but I honestly haven't had any issues.

Gutted, I went on to Co-Op's website last night after much deliberating with a view to buying the 65" set only to find they're out of stock. Just the 49 and 55 left at the moment.

Fingers crossed they get more 65" sets, as I understand Sony are continuing the XF90 series despite launching the XG95.

49" Refurb for £629 @ Sony Centres Direct.

They had the 65" for £1049 earlier. Not there now but stock comes and goes.

12 month guarantee on these.

My current TV was bought via Centres Direct. You get a refurb sent direct from a Sony Centre shop - in my case it was in perfect cosmetic condition but it has several dead / stuck pixels and some clouding on the backlight but neither is a problem in use (can't see the pixels at all and the clouding is only visible when switching inputs really). I used these issues to negotiate a 5yr guarantee for £25 extra at the time.
