Photography Competition , Round 28

The subject of this months comp is to be 'Decay'....urban decay, natural decay , tooth decay etc.

....sorry that i haven't posted the rules but the original thread seems to have disappeared...either that or I'm getting blinder

Rules (once again stolen from previous months)

1. One submission per person. Both discussion and photos are to be posted in this thread, but I'm happy for it to revert back to the separate thread idea from the last comp if needs be.

2. Photos have to be taken within the last 6 months to be eligible for entry. Obviously I'd prefer you to shoot specifically for the contest.

3. Open to all, Digital and Film. Digital Manipulation (Photoshop, etc) is accepted.

4. Please try to keep the submitted photo size to no larger then 800 pixels in the longest side and below 150kb (just in case some of us are on tiny monitors and have to think about the 56K-ers too)

5. The Winner can pick next month's competition topic

6. The judge's decision on the Winner and Runner up is FINAL.

7. Closing date is midnight 17th july.

Here's a quick go at an entry to start things off. Taken in March under a bridge in Chelmsford on a Canon G5, edited with Virtual Photographer and Paintshop Pro 9 to get the B+W effect.

Now edited to get a more 'grungy' feel to the image (I've changed the filename so people won't get left with the old version in their cache):

I've also uploaded a mini version of the original photo I took, in case anyone's interested in what this started out as:

Took this one today at Knott End, it's obviously decaying in the sea water, plus it can represent the decay of society as someone thug has chucked it in the sea at some point.

Here's my entry - Background has been desaturated and a focal blur put over. The rose in the centre has been left alone.

I may just have the shot for this compy... Will need to get the film developed first

Was mucking round with my lens back to front as a make shift macro setup, so will be interesting to see if what I'm thinking of has worked..
