I haven't seen ths yet as I am in Brum visiting family and all the fa,ily seem very excited about this as we tend to when there is a TV show with brown people on. I am looking forward to watching when I am back home next week.

Those that take the time to complain about it have to be part of the same brigade that just like to complain because they have nothing better to do.

Wait, didn't 'Goodness Gracious Me' subvert this show 15 years ago???

Looking at it, all I can think of is the **** sitcoms of early 90's. Regardless of the questionably of the jokes or cultural whatevers.. it's just outdated ****. The people who made it clearly haven't noticed the progress made in TV in the last 20 years. Ricky Gervais highlighted how crap the BBC is with sitcoms in the second series of Extras. Clearly they don't see or understand that, this bollokcks just isn't worth the money. There are web shows which look like they have bigger budgets (even though they probably cost a fraction) and easily have better scripts.

This excuse is used too often IMO. Just because a member of the ethnic group wrote it, doesn't stop it being offensive to that ethnic group.

Who wrote it and whether it is PC or not and offensive or not does not excuse the indistbutable fact that it is a pile of extremely old fashioned tired unfunny *****..

Which was excellent and only funny because it was made by the same people as Goodness Gracious Me. Which was also complete brilliance so many great characters

This isn't even a patch on either of those two shows. Goodness Gracious Me was seriously amazing for the time

Had the misfortune of seeing about 15 minutes of this utter drivel the other night. I won't be seeing any more of it.

It's not that bad but hardly a classic. Would anyone really find it offensive though?

Just watched the first two episodes and found the forced brummie accent by Kris Marshall to be the most offensive thing in it. It did feel like a inverted Alf Garnett script though and just felt a bit odd.

Loved the theme tune and kept thing of this when Mr Khan was talking to Dave

Have watched all three episodes and must admit I’ve quite liked them. In my opinion the USA make the best sitcoms, but this has it moments of mirth.

The character him self is pretty funny not so much the show. I liked it when they went round the room saying the managers title and khan just went 'alrite dave' or something.

The Muslims I have spoken to about it have thought it generally quite funny but there's a few things that reference the Koran directly that they didn't agree with being in there.

Not sure how representative that is, mind.

If it's old fashioned then so am I, I sat and chortled through last night's. Love the way he introduces himself as 'community leader' to everyone he meets.

First to episodes were a bit meh but the third one had me laughing quite a bit especially all the stuff Mr Khan said when he got home when he won the holiday to Mecca.

Love the supporting characters as well. The IT guy.

"This is our technical wizard, he's from Somalia" " Were you in IT back in Somalia? " "No, he was a wizard"
