Off to the Stones on Tue and Fri this week. Some good support acts (Liam on Tie and Florence on Fri).

As the Stones don't seem to be selling out they are doing "lucky dip" tickets from £30 - so for Coventry it's worth that to see the Specials as support

Paid full price for Tue, and then went for Lucky dip tickets for Friday. £35 a ticket is an absolute bargain, would be rude not to go.

I like the fact the supports are different each night.

Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets on Thursday, or, Spandau Barrett as they’ve been dubbed

Roger Waters in July

Also saw Rich Parfitt from 60ft Dolls do a short set for charity in Newport last night

Got tickets for Slayer's farewell tour in Glasgow. I'm no metal head but I like some metal bands and Lamb of God are supporting so I'm looking forward to seeing them. I don't really like Anthrax and don't know much about Obituary but will watch them. Gonna be a culture shock for the wife

It was far, far better than anyone could reasonably have expected. Just fantastic and amazing to see him in a pub with just 200 people

That must have been amazing. He has just announced a bigger tour. I've nabbed front row circle at Manchester Apollo.

I've also booked tickets for Mercury Rev doing an acoustic tour for the 20th anniversary of Deserters Songs.

We’re the lucky dip tickets worth it ?

Been following another forum and it seems to be general admission as a minimum, with good chance of golden cirlcle/pit or Vip seats

A week to wait - and might be setting my expectations to high

I saw the Stones on Tuesday, General Admission (£100) and it was fantastic, so took a punt on Lucky dip at £35 and went last night as well - and only went and got Gold Circle tickets! It was truly brilliant. So so lucky. I don’t know what the odds were, and literally at the box office I was given a choice of envelopes to choose from. Great night.

I saw them on Tuesday for the first time and was hoping to see them play Wild Horses so was gutted to hear they played it on Friday with Florence duetting.

They were fantastic though, really pleased I got to see them. I was very happy to see them play You Can't Always Get What You Want, Sympathy For The Devil and Gimme Shelter.

What sort of stage time are they doing - for Cov says doors open at 4, but pick tickets up from 10 am.... Curfew is 10.30 so trying to figure out a sensible time to get there and see The Specials as well - but dosen't seem to be published on line.

Any clues welcome

The London gigs were, support around 19:10 for about 30-35 mins, then Stones on at about 8:15.

But clearly that might be slightly different. Enjoy!

Ahhh... we got the roundabout by the Ricoh and beloved says I haven't got my credit card.... quick dash home... (Plus comments about I'm not standing -- back injury) - obviously we got standing tickets but there were people outside ticket office trying to swap - so we did for a pair of VIP passes so free bar (before) and we were sat behind Horace (from Specials) family - we swapped for "artists comp tickets" - but we gave up Pit B - although Mrs couldn't have stood for that long. So we were 'lucky'

Show was great but sound was so so ? And we got to chat to Horace at the end (his mum was funny)
