HMRC Tax Software

Hi - question for those who submit tax using a third-party piece of software.

I have found out that if I am living abroad, and have rental income from the UK, I can't submit a self-assessment online, but need to complete a paper assessment. This is UNLESS you pay for an approved piece of software.

Having looked at the costs, there's a number out there that are under 20 quid. Does anyone have any recommendations from this list https://www.gov.uk/government/public...ware-suppliers

Thanks

I asked HMRC - they said if you're a resident abroad, and have property income, you need to use a third party software, so you can claim personal allowance etc.

Else you need to do paper submission

I have one of the ones they recommend as am in the same situation. Can't remember which one off top of head, but works fine.

Could you possibly provide the name when you get a moment?

Thanks!

https://abcsa.co.uk

That is the one I have used. Fairly cheap too. Now my US taxes I use an accountant/tax professional as so much of a pain.
