Amazon deliveries

I don't know whether it's just our bad luck lately but the standard of Amazon deliveries is appalling. In the past few months some of the items either sent to the home or our local collection point look like they have been kicked around a field for a few hours. Today I received a vinyl album which was just shoved it an oversized box, the state of it amazed me and I'm in shock that it was in one piece.

About a month ago one bright individual left a card through the door saying he left a parcel (a Marshall bluetooth speaker) outside our front door!!!! guess what? yes your right no sign of it. Now while these are the fault of the delivery people the best was when I was sent a Vinyl box set and Amazon had stuck a delivery label straight on the box itself no packaging at all

To be fair they sorted out all these problems but it is starting to annoy me

I've found they've started outsourcing the deliveries as presumably they are struggling to cope, and as such the service has dropped. I almost sent two Amazon Shows to the recycling depot as they'd just been dumped in the recycling bin.

That was Royal mail.

I had a package before Xmas left beside my front door with £300 of stuff in it.

No card through the door. I couldn't see it from inside the house, everyone walking past could see it.

These days I use their lockers if at possible but it was tricky before Xmas as they were almost always full

I had an issue where they will only hand booze to an adult, took about 4 goes to get the parcel. I'll use lockers for them in the future if that is allowed

Pretty sure booze isn't allowed in the lockers

I actually don't mind them leaving stuff for me. Rather that than they take it back. But that's because we have a good area for them to do so.
A gated off car port they can enter and hide it behind things. And it's covered by CCTV. And there's always a car here so it always looks like we're in.

I do however have this interesting message against one of prime deliveries due yesterday:
"Now expected 29 December - 3 January
We're sorry your package is late
We're working to get your package back on track.
Please come back on Thursday if you still don't have it and we'll help you out.
Was expected Thursday, 28 December"

It was 'dispatched' but never went to 'out for delivery'. And presumably they're now trying to work out where it is!!

I've had that a few times. When it finally does arrive I get on to the customer support chat and they add on an extra month to my Prime subscription as compensation for the late delivery

This is the reason I have most of mine delivered to the local sorting office. No worries about not being in,it being left outside or non deliveries. Im not Prime and it generally takes a day longer but less hassle for me.

They were clearly having problems around Black Friday and the run up to Christmas. We had a couple of missed deliveries - one of the drivers claimed he couldn't deliver our parcel because he didn't have the entry code for our shared entrance, which is odd as we live in a detached house... I don't mind too much, as I've had a couple of free months of Prime added.

Conversely, my other half ordered a birthday present for somebody on 30th at 10pm, and it arrived on New Year's Eve at about 3pm. That's pretty impressive.

I've also never seen the same delivery driver twice, so I don't need to feel bad about complaining.

Wow! I had my "normal" Amazon driver comment just before Christmas that he "was at my door every blooming day!"

Don't know if he was fishing for a tip, slagging me off for getting so many prime deliveries or what!

I assume they get paid per parcel, I think they're quite happy when 12 parcels turn up at my house each day

The last few things I have had from Amazon have been delivered via Royal Mail, not seen that in ages.

recently had deliveries from amazon and amazon market traders fail to turn up by the delivery date but turn up later and these via royal mail. £70 of cds failed to turn up so i demanded a replacement which was sent to the wrong town, turned up the following day and the card said two parcels at the sorting office. I had the grim suspicion this would be the replacement and the original and it was, the original turning up a week late. Royal mail a joke and amazon logistics more reliable
