The same order the fans did would be 4, 5, 6, 4SE, 5SE, 6SE, 1, 2, 3.

For someone who's never seen any of them then I'd suggest 4, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3.

For someone who's already seen them but fancies a marathon I'd suggest 1, 2, Clone Wars, 3, 4, 5, 6.

Looks like harmless enough fun.

Yep, just saw that too. I'm a sucker for new Star Wars goodness, so I'm looking forward to Clone Wars.

I hope this cartoon smells the roses a bit more than II and III. Hopefully it won't just be exposition followed by a battle, exposition then fight, repeat, end.

I'm disappointed by the lack of filibustering in that trailer. Also, I feel we need to see more of the in-and-outs of the political processes of the Republic, because that definitely hasn't been covered in enough detail.

Blimey - the new trailer makes it look fantastic! But trailers are George's greatest talent these days...

Still - actually quite excited about this... and this is only the start, remember, as the series follows on soon after. Is Christopher Lee voicing Dooku? Sure sounds like him...

EDIT - it is indeed him. Apparently lip synched as they originally had another actor.

GL isn't directing or writing, so it has a chance.

Going back to the earlier posts about how best to watch the six films, there's a growing belief that it's more enjoyable to watch the films in what might be called 'Godfather Part 2' style, and split up the narrative. You go 1,4,2,5,3,6. That way the parallels between the parts of the two trilogies stand out more (for example, Anakin and Luke both losing a hand in the second film in each trilogy, Tattooine heavily featured in the first film of each trilogy etc.). Vader's revelation at the end of Empire is still a surprise (which is ruined if you watch 1-6 in narrative order), and we then immediately afterward see how Vader fell to the Dark Side, before returning to the 'main' narrative to see him redeemed. You can watch Episodes 2 and 3 this way, knowing that Obi ends up a grey-haired duffer out in the desert, but not knowing how he got there, which adds a welcome element of mystery too. The last time i watched the films (about three years ago when Sith came out on DVD and i was off work with the flu) i tried it this way and it's surprisingly enjoyable. Maybe George was on to something after all.

Interesting that Clone Wars is being distributed by WB. I wonder if they'll do a 3D version, like Polar Express and Beowulf? That would definitely be worth seeing...

New Clone Wars trailer (I think...)

Looks very cool, here's hoping that it actually is good.

This looks good I reckon, but then I liked ep's 1-3, because for what they are, their fine.

However I can't remember/work out how this fits with the 2 volumes of clones wars that we got between 2 and 3. I can't remember the end of volume 3, so that doesn't help, so can someone fill me in?

From memory, Volume 2 of the previous animated ones ended with General Grevious kidnapping Palpatine & legging it in his ship. So that led into Revenge of the Sith.

I think this new one is supposed to be another random adventure that happened sometime in the clone wars.

I could be mistaken though, as they're making a whole series of the new CG animated ones, so maybe they'll just ignore the previous ones completely...

And Paul Dini is writing a couple of the series episodes - so there's a good chance those will be decent too...

I think they are ignoring the previous animated Clone Wars. These ones don't look quite as good as the Tartakovsky ones to be honest, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going to watch them!

I think these'll fit in nicely without contradicting or ignoring the original Tartakovsky shorts. They were only short snippets of what was a three-year conflict after all, and there's plenty of wiggle room to tell more stories, e.g. we didn't actually see Asajj Ventress die in the original 'toons, so it's no surprise that she's back for more.

Good to see that the voice cast has a bit of class, what with Christopher Lee and Sam Jackson (although I doubt that they'll hang around for the TV run).

As a non Star Wars fan I'm finding myself increasingly more interested in this iteration of Clone Wars. After all, the Tartakovsky series was the new trilogy's only olive branch - I just hope that they can keep the same spirit if they're going to TMNT-it-up like this.
