Star Wars - Clone wars - any date for vol. 2 dvd?

Anyone know please?

these episodes are longer - 15 mins each and they made 5 (I think) which ran straight into the Ep. III storyline..

Very impressed by the first dvd..

No date yet but most people think X-mas. Some people on theforce.net forums have been rambling on about an August release for quite some time but this is extremely, extremely unlikely. It'd be good though.

I have yet to get the first volume (I'm hoping they bundle them together at a lower price). I really enjoyed the series.

It's a pity that that they didn't release them both on DVD before Ep III was released.

But the point was to show them on TV just before ROTS, so there is no way that the Cartoon Network would want them released on DVD at the same time.

the last 5 episodes (chapters 21-25) are available to download from the Starwars.com website:

But I agree, it would have been smarter to release them on dvd before Episode III came out. They explain why Grevious is coughing & wheezing so much at the beginning of the movie!

The comments related to the DVD release rather than the broadcast of volume 2, making your comments both irrelevant and unhelpful. Thanks for your concern.

I don't see anything wrong with the comment posted by Walrus Man. He points out that since LFL and CN wanted to air Volume 2 on TV about a month before ROTS came out, releasing the DVD then would make the broadcast an entirely pointless venture.

EDIT: and having it on TV might make the DVD release a little pointless too.

I don't find the comments 'irrelevant and unhelpful', in fact I find them the complete opposite. So I suggest that you don't post anymore pointless stuff in this thread.

Thanks guys, I thought I might be going mad for a minute, but it appears that bh1 is far more deserving of the and smilies he is so keen on using.

You've hit upon an important point here: scheduling. An earlier TV broadcast of the series would have provided the scope for a DVD release (with its extra features, feature length editing etc) prior to the release of EpIII. How Lucas missed this opportunity is a a mystery, given his commercial savvy, unless it was due to a tight production schedule preventing a release any earlier than was actually the case.

But it was originally broadcast a long time ago. So could they have not released the DVD prior to ROTS ?

Wait a sec, did they repeat them again on CN just befor ROTS came out ? Tha would explain a lot.

IIRC season 1 was originally broadcast in Autumn 2003, followed by season 2 in Spring 2004, and finally season 3 (which this thread is about) in April 2005, just a few weeks before ROTS hit cinemas.

The point that is still being missed by bh1, is that Lucas and the Cartoon Network wanted a TV Event before ROTS, not a DVD release. Possibly because more people would watch that than buy a DVD?
