Star Wars Clone Wars. Will This see a DVD Release

Have seen a couple of the chapters on Cartoon Network and it has promise but i feel the eps arent long enough. I feel it would be much better as one long season movie.

Does anyone know if theres any plans to cut this into one movie and release it on dvd???

Or release in the separate chapter format???

Will it even be released at all???

yes, this will be released on dvd. i don't think there's anything concrete on that - at least not that i can point you to - but back in the months before the first episode came out it was widely acknowledged that the whole thing would be released on dvd sometime at the end of this year.

i can't remember if it was on the official site, or discussed/reported on AICN, but some people were saying that they were waiting for the dvd and then watching it all in one go.

The problem is though will be be cut into one movie (or two one for each season) or will it be put onr the disc in separate chapters.

I think it will be on the DVD in episodes, with a play all function as well.

The DVD better have a low RRP or a stack of decent extras considering the short length of each episode. I loved the episodes but wished they had either made a lot more of them or made them each about 15-20 minutes in length.

why shouldn't that be allowed, it's linking to legit time/warner servers. It is of exactly the same legality as Dave's Trailer Page.

The larger size ones you have to pay for, so the link is dodgy...

I think it works best in the short format. After all it is really just an advert for the toys...

I'd still buy it on DVD - hell, I bought R2-D2: Beneath the Dome on DVD...

I might stop short of the Ewok movies though.

I didn't mind the Ewok movies, although i was a kid when i last saw them. I wonder if they will ever get round to releasing them.

Think of it this way: everything Star Wars related is released to make money, therefore releasing The Clone Wars shorts onto DVD is another way for George's bank manager to be excited.

When it comes to Lucasfilm, nothing is too much...

Loco I was on the Star Wars web site and I saw this;

lookie lookie; I saw this on www.starwars.com

Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 1 Coming to DVD
December 06, 2004

The Emmy Award-winning and critically acclaimed Star Wars: Clone Wars micro-series is coming to DVD on March 22, 2005, and here's a first look at the box art of this action-packed release that blends the epic scope of Star Wars with a unique animated style.
Obi-Wan Kenobi fights a messy battle with an alien bounty hunter; Anakin Skywalker engages in an epic lightsaber duel in the decrepit ruins of Yavin 4; Mace Windu single-handedly takes on an entire droid army -- these are some of the unshakable images of micro-series, enjoyed by viewers of the Cartoon Network as well as members of Hyperspace: The Official Star Wars Fan Club.

All 19 three-minute chapters and the five-minute long Chapter 20 of the first round of Star Wars: Clone Wars are gathered together in this release. Directed by Genndy Tartakovsky with Art Direction by Paul Rudish, the Clone Wars series are a fresh, stylized take on Star Wars that remains true to the spirit of the saga. They chronicle some of the epic battles that occur between Episodes II and III as the Clone Wars rage across the galaxy.

Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 1 debuts on DVD on March 22, 2005. Cartoon Network will host the premiere of the all-new Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 2 on March 21, one day before the DVD's release. Keep checking starwars.com for the latest developments.

Yub, Yub, Yub!

There is a fan-version of this series available that is very impressive - viewable as either one film or individual episodes and has 3 commentary tracks (!!) + extras + easter-egg

I'll also be buying the retail version in March - interesting to see how they compare to each other: a dedicated fan's disc versus a quick cash-in(?)

You can get the driods / ewoks series, and ewok films from dvdsoon very cheaply. Not sure why anyone would want to though
