(Kids) Animated TV Shows Of 2009 = Great!!!

Is it me, or is anybody else finding themselves watching and enjoying these quality shows more than most of the live action?

At the moment I'm really enjoying watching the following new cartoons with my son:

Batman: The Brave & The Bold
Wolverine & The X-Men
Spectacular Spider-Man
Clone Wars
Transformers Animated
Ben 10 Alien Force

If for any reason the above aren't shown in a week, we also watch older episodes of Justice League or Thundercats.

We make an effort to watch one 20min ep a night, or maybe a 2 at most if a weekend morning.

Is the batman one on terrestrial anywhere? And is it worth watching... i.e. better than the awful "the batman"

i know it isnt strictly on topic, but if you and your son haven't yet done it watch avatar last of the airbenders.

It's absolutely out of this world.

I agree with this 100% The best animated series in a very long time.

As for Transformers Animated, I hated it. It was just too cutesy for it's own good. Batman: The Brave & the Bold was just too camp for me to enjoy. Bring back Batman : TAS!

Watching Clone Wars, superb

Been thinking about trying out Wolverine & The X-Men

But agree with everyone here Avatar Last of the Airbenders is probably the best animated series since MCOG (Certainly has the same feel) And the last episode has to be seen to be believed, not because of the action, but the character development, one in particular.

I'd probably be a nightmare dad, I'd force my kids to watch dvd's of stuff I watched in the 80's. If you can't do that, at least make let him watch Mysterious Cities of Gold.

That's not a "Nightmare Dad", my son always asks to see Thundercats, Visionaries, Transformers, Defenders Of The Earth, Dungeons & Dragons, Ulysees and G-Force / Battle Of The Planets.

It is if, like a lot of kids, anything older than 5 years old is lame! Ulysses is great but no MCOG? Best.animated.series.ever.

Which channels should I be looking at to try these cartoons? I'm off this week and if they are good for adult viewing I'll see if I can give some a try.

I also want to have kids and bring them up on the good stuff (=80s, oh and run em Doctor Who from the beginning)

Wolverine & the X-Men is very, very good. I've got loads of DC stuff on DVD, all 4 seasons of Batman the animated series (which is superb), 3 seasons of Batman Beyond ( a bit slow to begin with but it's still good). Oh and the Justice League and JLU stuff has some great storylines as well. The Superman animated series is above average but he does have some awesome villains, in fact they make the show!

Season 3 of Transformers has gotten off to a really good start, plus I love hearing Lance Henriksen as the voice of Lockdown

yup CBBC have Wolverine, CArtoon Network the Clone Wars, looked on Nickleodeon as well, no sign on Batman or Spider-man, how olds that cartoon, the last one I remember seeing was the MTV one from around 2002 if I remember rightly, follwoed the comics faithfully but couldn't get on with spideys voice.

Cbbc were showing Wolverine & the X-men but its just finished it's season run on Sunday 5th april. Good news is the 2nd season is in production.
Clone Wars is being shown on Cartoon Network weekdays @ 10am ... was Sat & Sundays but has been moved.. For sum annoying reason Sky + won't let you series link it

My other half laughed at me for watching both of these too but what the hell I've enjoyed em both outta the 2 Wolverine was my fav though...

Cartoon Network has been showing alot of more grown up cartoons of late. I am waiting to see what the latest one is going to be like: Chowder, looks good from the Ads.
Another I would recommend is Samurai Jack - Excellent.
