Your top 5 Christmas films

I'm not watching any of my top christmas films this year just to give them a rest. So I was wondering what other people have as their favourites. Here's mine:

1. Scrooge (1951)
2. It's a Wonderful Life
3. Nightmare Before Christmas
4. Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
5. The Bishop's Wife

1. It's A Wonderful Life

2. White Christmas

3. Casablanca (often shown during the season)

4. Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

5. Shop Around the Corner

I have never liked The Bishop's Wife - yes, even the Cary Grant version.

Black Christmas "Let me lick your pretty pink ****!"
A Christmas Story "You'll shoot your eye out!"
It's a Wonderful Life "No man is a failure who has friends"
Meet Me in St Louis "Have yourself a merry little Christmas"
The Nightmare Before Christmas "What's this? What's this? There's something very wrong!"

Each will get a screening with 'Black Christmas' late on Christmas Eve as is now tradition!

No particular order:

A Christmas Story
Die Hard
It's a Wonderful Life
Miracle on 34th Street (1947)
Muppets Christmas Carol

I could just as easily place Home Alone and Gremlins in there though.

Black Christmas was an ace little horror, but doesn't make my top five.

1. The Polar Express (Genius)
2. National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
3. It's a Wonderful Life
4. The Family Stone
5. Santa Clause the Movie

Meet Me in St. Louis
Go
Elf
Black Christmas
Die Hard

A Charlie Brown Christmas is not a film, but my favourite thing to watch on Christmas and while not a Christmas film, The Night of the Hunter is my favourite film and ends with a rather touching Christmas scene.

The Sure Thing
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
It's A Wonderful Life
Stalag 17
Ronin

I also like Die Hards 1&2, Elf, Trading Places and the Dutch film Alles Is Liefde. Though they have no connection to Christmas, I usually watch Cliffhanger and Where Eagles Dare too. It must be the snow that does it.
