If HD has so much space on a disc, why are there 2-disc sets? - 100's of hours of extras?

Yes, all Warners. Interesting choices, especially as it looks to confirm that June 13 date for The Searchers SE.

interestingly one thing this list shows is that there will be no rush for me to get a HD-DVD player as the titles I'm most interested in:

superman 1
casablanca
singing in the rain
wizard of oz

are all to be released after Nov 2006.

and one more classic release coming:

Forbidden Planet...................10 (oct)/03/06....C Catalog Day and Date (2 Disc)

HD-DVD has a lot of space, but Hi-Def resolution films use up a LOT of space.

Plus, the 2-discer still has a lot of status, I don't think we will see the end of it.

This is a turn up for the books - previous lists I've seen have all been brain dead recent blockbusters (the only one to wet my appetite being The Fifth Element) so it's nice to see some decent titles! 2001: A Space Odyssey

Might have to get a player after all...
