No - but you just know it right

Hopefully, though, we get Porto whilst City get United/Juventus

The Liverpool FC Thread

Good win but not a great performance. Better teams would have punished how wasteful we were in possession.

Ref did very well overall, although should have booked Lewandowski after he threw himself on the floor for the 3rd time.

Yeah, really hope we avoid any English teams, would definitely prefer Ajax or Porto

Not conceding is not the only measure of defensive form though, the shakier the defence the less options you have to go forward because the opposition get more time to press, or the team is just that bit more worried so it affects how they play.

Of course if we're smashing loads of goals in that offsets but it rarely works that way.

You've got to be happy with that draw?

Although Barcelona in the semis...

Makes a change to get an easy draw

And we have been drawn as the away team in the Final

Why is Porto an easy draw? The arrogance is unbelievable from some of our fanbase- favourites for the tie- yes-easy-no

It is not going to be easy as such - after all it's the quarter finals - but it is, arguably, the easiest team we could have got. Or are you saying Barcelona/City/Juventus would have been a better draw ?

And we didn't do too badly against Porto last season

I predicted our draw right anyway

The worst draw for us is the Tottenham v Man City one, as it may mean that Tottenham rest players in the league game.

I'm saying I remember beating Crystal Palace 9-0 one season and everyone thought the cup semi against them later that season was going to be "easy"...I am also saying no draw at this stage is easy, you said Porto were

That's actually a decent set of fixtures, glad to see we didn't get all the English teams playing each other.

That home/away thing in the final is purely administrative isn't it? Nobody gets any advantage?

That's not a bad April for us now in terms of time between games.

I see Chelsea also have to travel to Prague 3 says before our game.

I think the timing actually places their league fixture after both the CL games. Arguably if City knock Spurs out of the CL they'll be looking for revenge in the league.

These are City's fixtures with Spurs in April

9. Spurs (A) CL
17. Spurs (H) CL
20. Spurs (H) PL

I was at Villa Park for the semi-final vs Palace in the same season as the 9-0. It ended 4-3 to Palace. Oh, I was also on the Kop for the last game vs Arsenal in 1989.

I promise to go nowhere near Anfield until the season is over, just in case I'm a Jonah

Flipping heck ... it seems some refs do know how to send Maguire off for a professional foul
