Love all the claims of us bottling it having dropped 7 points from the last 6 yet when City recently dropped 15 points from 10 nobody batted an eyelid

True but there were no claims that they were bottling it ... it was more a case of "oh, they're concentrating on the CL this year", etc, etc

No-one that even vaguely matters says we are bottling it.

In most season everyone goes through a bit of a rough patch, admittedly City didn't last season and won with an all conquering amount of points, however mostly the PL is won with considerably less, meaning points are dropped.

Have we also ever had a good January/February under Klopp?

No,which doesn't bode well does it? As for bottling it anyone who doesn't think we've displayed some signs of nerves in the last few games needs to take up watching cricket. Bottling is probably too strong a word but nervous certainly isn't.

Doesn't help that we've looked out of sorts in attack for a while as well. Someone seems to be writing left and right on a lot of wrong boots.

How many points have City dropped in the last 6? 3?

Injuries is completely exposing our squad depth and too many key players are way off form. I couldn't believe it when it popped up last night that Salah got player of the month,he's been desperately average for the most part.

I've read plenty of claims of City bottling it in the last few weeks. The fact is that although we are talking about some of the best players in Europe, they're still human, and it's perfectly reasonable that mistakes and poor indivual performances will become factors as the weeks wear on. That said, I'm surprised with how we've got back into it so quickly.

Barrie Ronay claimed in The Guardian yesterday that Liverpool would ride out the storm yet today claims the wheels are falling off!

Judging by the increasingly mad comments, I bet the managers are feeling the pressure - Klopp with his bonkers assertion that Liverpool somehow suffered because they were allowed an offside goal and Guardiola claiming today that even Chelsea and United are in with a shout! They're trying to deflect the pressure from their players but most people can see right through it.

Going to be an interesting few months.

Over the first 13 games City outpointed us by two points. Over the last 12 we've outpointed City by 5, due to them losing 4 in 10, which is pretty mad. My point is i while i do see City dropping further points, it won't be anything like that so we've got to be pretty much perfect from now till May. Need our injured players back asap and our out of form ones to come back to their best. Oh and play the front 3 in their proper positions. Still, while disappointed in the last week ,to currently be 3 ahead of City,(until tomorrow night's gimme) who walked this league last season is no mean feat. And as mad as it sounds, Spurs are well in there, how can they not be? Still got to play City and ourselves, albeit away.

Agree with all of that.

Just need some of the "bed wetters" on RAWK, tomorrow, to state that City aren't going to drop another point cos when that has happened recently they immediately drop at least 2 To be, at worst, 2nd on GD with a game in hand after 25 games is more than I could ever have imagined back in August and there is a long way to go yet.

In other news ... I see the Ox and Hoever have both been added to the CL squad for the rest of the season.

As for tonight's game ... I might be misremembering here but I thought they banned the bringing forward of games after some team tried to do it purely so one of their key players could serve a suspension in an 'easy' game rather than a big cup game a few days later ?

I really have to pick you and the media up here. Mostly written by people that probably never even saw the game and only the highlights.

The goal scorer wasn't offside, the person that crossed it was. Mane actually had quite a bit to do before he scored and West Ham certainly shouldn't have allowed him to turn like they did. Pellegrini claimed that West Ham didn't win because Milner wasn't flagged offside, probably to mask their poor defending. Meanwhile Klopp actually stated that a draw was a fair result. So tell me which manager was more bonkers?
Salah was called offside in almost the same position as Milner, when he was as clearly onside as Milner was off, near the end of the first half. I'm going to use a Pellegrini assumption and say we would have definately scored from the resulting cross and probably would have been leading 1-0 at half time, because West Ham only scored because they felt aggrieved at the Liverpool goal
Did the linesman know by this point that he'd got the Milner one badly wrong and wasn't doing it again? Would VAR bring it back and allow Salah to cross/run into the box unhindered?
Yes the officials had a bad game, but it wasn't all one way like some people are seeming to say. Klopp wasn't actually that wrong, because after the lack of an offside call, West Ham got more decisions go their way than Liverpool did

I didn't even see the highlights - I was merely going off the morning report on Radio Five. I generally find them reliable so assumed they were summing things up accurately.

LOL. That is superb

Now why can't Liverpool score in the 47th minute of a 46 minute half ?? After all, City fans will tell you the refs are conspiring to hand us the title

Don't know where you're getting your info from. No City fans I know think that. The general consensus is that you've scraped a few lucky points when you've had a poor performance, but that's part of grinding your way to a title (or top 3 place).

I have to admit, I did enjoy Pellegrini's comments about the Dortmund / Malaga game. Or was that misreported as well?
