Indeed; I'm hoping they'll go for the same artwork as the UK.

Speaking of spoilers, if anyone hasn't seen the original Planet of the Apes they will regret buying the new steelbook!

And if they expect to see the gorilla (Ursus) on the back artwork in the film, they'll be disappointed. He doesn't turn up until the second movie, 'Beneath...'!

It's clear that the "collecting" habit - or greed on Zavvi's part - has taken over the steelbook market; it'll ruin it for the rest of us
More reasonable but pretty poor looking.

I bet Zavvi do "emblem/logo" releases of all the marvel Phase 2 and slip it too us dry every single time.

And I know I won't be able to resist, damn this collecting urge!

Put an order in for Iron Man 3 but if we get stiffed on the extras like Avengers I'll cancel it like I did with that. Is it being distributed by Paramount or Disney? If it's Disney then I'm sure they'll have something to do with the price and the lack of 3D.

More announced by Zavvi.

The Day After Tomorrow
28 Days Later
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
Daredevil

All £15.99.

How much longer till the bubble bursts on this fad. These would have been £11.99 at most on Play.

Its Disney. They paid a stupid amount of money to get distribution rights to Marvel films. Is mainly the former Paramount characters but potentially those like Daredevil for new films. Only one outside I believe is Spider-Man which is on long term deal with Sony.

I bought this and the Heat steelbook in this sale, chose the cheapest shipping method (est 6-8 weeks) and they sent it DHL express - it turned up 3 days later

X2 and Fifth Element getting steels too. Own all of them already apart from Abraham Lincoln and judging by the reviews it's not worth owning, no way I'm double dipping especially at £16.

Would have been tempted to pick up Die Hard but the artwork is a bit pants.

Paramount never owned any Marvel characters, they only ever had a distribution deal with Marvel. When Disney bought Marvel they told Paramount they wanted to distribute the movies as they have the means to do so (Marvel, being a new movie studio at the time, didn't have such a network so needed the deal with Paramount). Paramount agreed so long as their former deal with Marvel remained in place, which was 8% of the profits from the two movies they were still contracted for (The Avengers and Iron Man 3), they also asked for their name and logo to remain on screen and on any promotional materials for those titles. Disney agreed to this.

The rights to Daredevil, Punisher, Blade and Ghost Rider have all recently returned to Marvel, having previously owned by various studios.

Spider-Man is the only outside title? Are you forgetting the X-Men franchise that is owned by Fox.

Although if a report I read a week or so ago is to be believed, Sony are a bit strapped for cash and might be willing to hand Spidey back to Marvel.

Good stuff, I'm still waiting for mine to turn up from amazon us. I was going to get watchmen in the sale too but it wasn't giving me a shipping date which put me off. I was tempted by the heat steelbook too. What does the watchmen steel look like, are you pleased with it ?

Fantastic Four is also still with Fox isn't it, with a re-boot in the works at the moment?

Looks like that lastest Fox wave aren't Zavvi exclusives, as Saiansburys have The Fifth Element listed at a slightly more reasonable £11.99.

Too many, they are losing their appeal. I'm starting to ease off buying them.

Yeah, I know that. I just mentioned X-Men because malcy said about Spidey being possibly being the only character owned by another studio.
