Broken Arrow - 2010 Release?

Hi,

I was browsing Amazon for "Broken Arrow" and came across 2 versions:

- Amazon.com - Released 1999
- Amazon.com - Released 2010

I've seen no mention of this 2010 release anywhere, so I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it.
Is it a reissue of the 1999 release? Has it got any special features? Is it anamorphic? Uncut? etc.

Thanks,
Jason

It's probably just a reissue. If you want anamorphic you'll have to get the R2 or the blu-ray. Both of them have the trailer as the only extra.

The Blu Ray while not the best quality ever made, well it piddles all over the dvds. I would love to see a real new transfer and some extras for the film, as frankly I adore it

Yeah i think its a decent film aswell and really underatted. Love the bit where the guy gets hit by the rotor blades on top of the train.

There was a stunts programe on ch5 a couple of years ago on the fall from the train carridge, and they showed loads of behind the scenes footage of it being shot. Would'nt take much for Fox to stick on a making of docu and get Woo to record a commentary.

Yeah over the years I have seen so many bits on stunt shows about the film, even seen a good making of on TV back in the day. I still think the stunts are stuning in the film, before CGI came along and made everything green screen.

I think I have just talked myself into watching the Blu Ray tonight haha

Yep, another cracking action flick from John Woo that deserves a proper SE.

Got a couple of good action scenes but the whole thing is a bit poo.

Christian Slater is so hard he can take being hit with a crow bar as well!

Haven't seen Hard Target for years but don't remember liking it. Much prefer the rather similar Surviving the Game.

Yep. It looks like this is a reissue.

I love this flick. It's the one movie that I refused to buy on DVD until a special edition came out. It looks like that's never gonna happen, which is a shame. It's one of the great actioners of its time. It's one of those flicks where you turn off your brain for a couple of hours, like Armageddon and The Rock.

As for the only good Hollywood John Woo film, I disagree personally. I love Face/Off and I think his take on Mission Impossible 2 is the best of the trilogy.

Thanks for the help everyone

Face/Off is an over-bloated and over-rated mess of a film and MI:2 is just simply the worst movie i have ever seen ever, (and i have seen some real dross over the years)

I orderd the Blu at the weekend, thanks to this thread and remembering how fun this movie is. Hav'nt seen it all the way thru in a long time.

Seem to remeber the first time i watched it was on VHS. Now to sell my old dvd copy.
