What London needs is a Dabs/Ebuyer/ type computer shop that does Net prices but has a counter where you can pick up stuff at the same price.

Manchester has one but I cant remember the name and if you live in Bradford then CCL Computers is closeby so you can pick up same day and same price.

I thought Novatech were going to expand to more out of towns as they had warehouses and counters in several places but they closed them all recently and have gone online only from their Portsmouth home base.

I remember years back (15+) one of the big online retailers had a place in London, might have been round Walthamstow or something? Certainly in the East somewhere. I can't remember what the name was or if it still exists though.

Anyway, screw London, give us somewhere in Norfolk!

Datel used to have a shop on the Tottenham court road, I remember also going to Selfridge's Basement to Silica Systems to buy my Amiga. Another loss was when Morgan Computers died and took it's amazing warehouse counter with it from Greenford and it's shop stacked to the ceiling with boxes of desktops and laptops on New Oxford Street (It trades online in name only now as it's really Bentham Ltd using the name)

Oh I remember Silica Systems. They used to sell those PCs with a built-in Mega Drive!

There was a time when the TCR CEX sold decent PC stuff. That's where I got my 3DFX Voodoo1

Special Reserve were based in Upminster in Essex/Greater London. They had a shop there and I visited quite a few times.

Simply Computers were in Walthamstow (Black Horse Road area). Went there quite a bit too

I got a few games mail from SR in the Amiga days and also went to Simply at Blackhorse Road once as well.

Anyone that spent anytime in Sheffield in the 80's/90's will remember Just Micro on Carver St.

Still online at the moment. What happens to all the Numbers? If they shut tonight, then no chance of a PAC I guess.

Realistically it was never going to last. They sent an email though a few weeks ago increasing useage limits. It being so quick is strange.

Yup they took as much customer money as possible up to last minute and did a runner, email, facebook and twitter closed down. I woke up this morning and wondered why my phone did not work anymore, I was a paying customer so they made off with Ł15 of my credit. Moving to O2 tomorrow.

http://www.mobilenewscwp.co.uk/2014/...obile-closure/ failed to pay Cognatel and Vodafone it seems. Also if you topped up your credit via Paypal open a dispute with them or contact your bank/credit card regarding a chargeback.
