The A-Team: Complete Seasons 1-5

I have seasons 1-2, and was about to order 3, but then I spotted this

Does anyone have this?

Is it worth having or should I just stick to the standalone boxsets? (it would be cheaper seeing as I already have S1-2 but I'm rapidly becoming a massive fan and this looks sweet)

The site doesn't mention any extras/special features - are there none?

Oh and I hear that season 5 is atrocious - is that true? Season 1-2 are pure gold.

Any help much appreciated

There aren't any extra bonus features on the set that aren't on the DVDs already. Season 5 isn't ''atrocious'' it's just a bit more serious and lacks the spark and humour of the earlier seasons. It's worth watching. The only special feature on any of the sets is a 6 minute interview with Stephen Cannell on the season 5 set where he talks about how the show came about, the pitch and how he went about casting it.

I'd stick with the 'Stand Alones' and i'm a BIG A Team Fan but being honest its just too dear for what you are getting. (i.e rubbish special features)

But again i've spent a lot more on other Boxsets and it does look rather sexy

Season 5 is ok, nothing great but every series has one bad season

TBH if you're a fan that awesome looking boxset is the way to get it (if you don't have any sets or can't find them cheaper individually) as it's cheaper overall anyway. Content wise the discs are no different but the box is ace!
Random, you could easily sell the first 2 season sets.

For better pictures of what the actual box looks like (rather than that computer mock-up) plus what the disc cases are like (standard 2 disc amarays) take a look at the customer pics at amazon uk

The Only Real Extra is on Season 2 in the form of a Knight Rider Episode, but I would really call it an extra, more of a publicity thing to promote Knight Rider on DVD.
Season 1,2 and 3 are superb, sadly Seasons 4 and 5 are a bit crap, and I'm not suprised they axed it after that, It was a bit disapointing because they took it in a different direction from Season 4 and it totally failed, Shame.

Anyone know whats happening to an A-Team Movie,Is that still happening does anyone know??

And the R1s are horrible double sided discs. It sort of balances out.

What cuts are there? I never knew about this! Were they pre-cut by Universal because I can't find any mention of cuts at the bbfc? Rewind also has no info for cuts but they only have details for the first 3 seasons US vs UK.

The first 2 seasons were edited for their UK release, Jumpin Jack Flash was removed from Mexican Slayride, Murdock's rendition of Satisfaction is missing from Small But Deadly War, and the pre-titles trailers were missing from every episode.

Also, The Bend in the River was edited into 2 parts, with about 8 minutes of scenes missing. The big noticable one is the scene where Hannibal is playing the Aqua maniac and Face picks him up from the set and helps him get changed. This scene lasts 3-4 minutes.

The R1 does have dual sided disks but for example the "Bend in the River" is complete.

That's about it, although I'm sure the music changes are the same on all regions.

It seems they used the UKGOLD edited for time version by mistake on the UK release of Bend in the River.

Ah okay, many thanks for those details Hamburger3!
The music changes are the same in R1 too. See confirmation at rewind.

Are the pre-title teasers included on the R1 releases then?

A shame about the use of the edited 2 parter. Playback did the same for The Rockford Files pilot in R2 (R1 "forgot" to include it until season 2 anyway but at least it was the original version when they did)!

They are, although for some reason some are missing on the season 4 set.

The box set is awesome but that is NOT how it looks, mine looks like this...

Not quite as cool as the initial design we were all waiting for but still, in my opinion, a very cool box set and well worth a purchase for any a-team fan!

That's a nice looking box. But surely if you're the ultimate A-Team fan you need all of this too:

Look-in was ace!
It's tragic to know I had many of those items (apart from the guns, wasn't allowed to play with them) and they got trashed! I loved my 'Howling Mad' Murdock doll! Sorry, "action figure"!

Those are actually real working guns by the way. The guy that owns that collection is a US firearms instructor.

Thanks for the input though, folks

Nice! I had loads of that stuff when I was younger, I just wish I was old enough to respect it all instead of trash it! Now I'm gutted!

I'll live though, I got my nice little A-Team van models and the box which is good enough for me!
