Anyone who has a problem with a female having a british accent in their US shows is more screwed up in the head than Dexter afaic!

ohhhh the 59 year old JoBeth Williams is a nice addition

Some real interesting character development here with Harry calling Dexter a monster. Doakes and Lt. LaGuerta are the weak links in the series, but I still think its the best thing on right now.

Love the 'subtle' way Rita was trying to get Dex drop Lyla

I have no problem with Brit accents in US shows - I have a problem with them always sounding the same, like ******* Daphne from Frasier.

Haven't thought too much of this second series, tbh. It's okay, but it's just kinda meandering along.

The LaGuerta storyline is pretty weak to be honest. Are we supposed to believe that she was able to sleep with the new bosses boyfriend just to get her old job back? That's a bit of a stretch.
Plus the new boss being so nuts that she'd throw a major wobbler in the middle of the room over a 'smell' on her bf's shirt. I'd expect that storyline in a show like the OC or something but not Dexter.

I agree but I'm enjoying the rehab storyline, plus when dexter found out about the rocks after thinking he'd destroyed all the evidence.

Oh don't get me wrong all the other storylines are fitting in well. Dexter in rehab was a brilliant move and it looks like his character is actually questioning his need to kill - especially with the flashback to Harry calling him a monster.
Even his sister's storyline is going along nicely, which came as a surprise, I'm enjoying seeing how her experience with Icetruck has warped her perspective.

But the idea that someone could head up a police dept while being so emotionally unbalanced that she'll throw a tantrum in the middle of the room just doesn't seem right. Or the way that LaGuerta would be able to seduce the bf.

Does it matter anymore though? Looks like that subplot is done and dusted.

Doakes is brilliant and deserves his own series

oh yes....

Looks like Harry isn't the nice guy we thought he was. Taking Dexter in out of guilt rather than love. Nice touch at the end with the camera.

Season 2 is maintaining the high standard set in season 1 (unlike Heroes ) as far as I'm concerned. I do expect not only Dex will finish the job he started, but find his boss who gave the order to have mom killed.

Might be that police chief who is perving over dexter's sister?

It was very nice to watch though, hopefully we can see more of her in the next episode. I liked the camera part at the end, very similar to the eyes in the boot of the car in season 1

You should be more than happy now that 2x06 has aired

I've still got 10 minutes to watch (train commute not quite long enough!) but this is a brilliant episode. Its a close run thing between this and House as my current fav show. Can't wait to see where they take this.

Dexter's character development has great fun to watch this season. It looks like his killer instinct is under control, for now..

"The voices are back. Excellent!"

Lyla... Rita...

Best series of the year for me.

Another brilliant episode, great to see Dexter back on form and dealing with Dokes (sp?).

Looks like he may have met his match with Lilah though. She looks like being a bit of a bunny-boiler psyco bitch from hell.
