IMPORTANT ACCOUNT NOTICE

To Flixster Video users:

Thank you for using Flixster Video to watch your favorite movies and television shows.

Following the announcement by UltraViolet that it will be discontinuing its service on July 31, 2019, we are writing to provide you notice that Flixster Video is planning to shut down its website, applications and operations on October 31, 2019.

To enable you to continue to enjoy your video collection after the shutdown of Flixster Video, we have made arrangements to allow Flixster Video users to migrate available videos in their Flixster Video collections to Google Play. Google Play is a global online store that is home to the latest apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, books and magazines you can enjoy and share on all your favorite devices.

Please note that certain videos in your Flixster Video collection may not be available for migration to Google Play. Certain other limitations may apply subject to the terms of service and available features of Google Play in your country.

We will provide you further notice and information once this Flixster Video Ė Google Play migration process is available for Flixster Video users, which is expected to be in July 2019.

In the meantime, prior to July 31, 2019, please go to Flixster Video, log in to your Flixster Video account and make sure that your account is linked and remains linked to your Ultraviolet library to ensure that your Flixster Video collection is up to date.
Thank you,

The Flixster Video Team
In a way Iím happy they are transferring to Google but I bet a bulk of mine donít transfer.

Had read that Warner are paying for the switch to Google Play.

Hence may not include titles from other studios who have used UV such as Universal, Fox, Lionsgate, BBC, Sony.

Also I expect they will exclude some of the more obscure Warner UV titles.

I've only got the Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel on there so not really bothered. At least it's something.

Iíve been taking to people and Iíve found a way to get some of my titles transferred now.

I did it all on my iPhone but I imagine itís doable on PCs.

1 get a VPN, I found Betternet worked on step 3 while others did not.
2 switch it on and signup to VUDU.com and go to account manage to link your UV account.
3 signup to moviesanywhere.com and link your google account.
4 go back to VUDU and add moviesanywhere account.
5 switch the VPN off

Now go to YouTube and see whatís been added

According to flixters email (they're shutting down as well in a few months), they're going to transfer content to google play, but not every title will be able to be done.

All good in theory but MoviesAnywhere is notoriously difficult to get to work with VPNs to sign up.

Edit - Just read that Betternet worked for you....

Edit - It didn't work for me:

I signed up to MA a while ago, and used Windscribe. It was blocked for a few of the servers, but it eventually worked with one in Colorado I think.

Would it not be easier to just wait until next month when Flixster will let you do it properly rather than mucking about trying to an get a VPN IP that's not blacklisted yet?

We donít know how much Flixster will give us, it doesnít hurt going through other routes rather than risking losing titles.

Worryingly so far none of my TV titles have transferred and thatís ALL 4 of the Batman Animated series and 4 of the 6 series of Community, amongst others.

Can anyone recommend a free VPM which allows a Movies Anywhere registration in the US. Everyone I have tried including paid ones no matter which US service or server on the VPN is blocked from registering with MA.

In the US if you can get a registration with Movies Anywhere they will move your digital copies to Vudu, Itunes, Google Play etc. So anything you registered with Flixster is moving to other services. But only movies so far.

However in the UK only Flixster and Sony Movies Store are allowable viewing platforms for UV everything else has closed already and there was hardly anything else to begin with. TalkTalk (ex Blinkbox and Tesco closed some years ago). Flixster have said they will move some titles to Google Play but not said which studios (may only be Warner) and titles including whether only films or some TV as well. Everything else you will lose your digital copies when Flixster closes in a few months.

Thatís why if you can you want a Movies Anywhere account in the next month to link your UV account to as that will give the most options to keep copies. But itís incredibly hard to get an account outside the US because of their anti VPN blocking. I havenít got it to work

As I said above Betternet worked for me but only me so far, maybe it was the order of iPhone VPN I used that got past it, all I know is I got in.

I tried all 26 US states and Canada on Betternet, without success. Haven't tried Windscribe yet.
