When did buying a new TV become such a slog?

Dear lord!!

This is a nightmare! Last time we bought a new to, all we had to consider was 'is it hd compatible?' Easy enough.

Now we're looking to upgrade, I want 4k, but reading up, if I want to future proof a bit more, I also need HDR too. Fine, sorted! I've found a Sony that sits in the budget, has 4k HDR, we can get Netflix in super hd (or whatever) and all is well.

Ah! But is it an 8bit or 10 bit panel? What does that even mean?!

Am I drilling into stuff too much?right now, our content will be sky hd and Netflix, as well as ps4 gaming.

Days researching, reading reviews, watching YouTube reviews, its consuming my life! All I'm trying to do is buy a tv!!
