Marketing apparently spent $10 million on the GR alpha promo video

Companies then whine and bitch that producing the games have gone up. Single player demo wouldn't cost a fraction of that and would of done more to promote it.

Not sure I see them as great reviews tbh. There's too much of an "if only" vibe in both of them.

I was really looking forward to this and hoping against hope that it hadn't been turned into COD, Was going to buy it on the day of release but I might wait for a few more reviews before I get my hands on it

Well surely references to strategy, tactics and team coordination in the reviews immediately tell you it's nothing like CoD.

Looking forward to campaign and coop stuff, not so much multiplayer
Main concern is the servers!

I'm pretty sure I tead in one of the may reviews that the coop and guerilla modes need the Ubi servers to be accessible which is crap. Even worse was the fact that (i think in Guerilla mode) that there is one controller setting and evryone inherits it. So you are all either inverted or not. FFS if that is true that is just a game breaker on that mode for me.

Anyone know if the Ubisoft online pass is for only competitive multiplayer or does that include coop as well ?

It's on my rental list but I'm not that fussed on playing it tbh, was just wondering.

It's for MP, coop and guerilla from what I've read. On Xbox369acievements they say there are also no lobbies to search for coop or guerilla either. So that will die on it's arse too I imagine like ODST Firefight did. Sad really as I thought the beta quite good.

My copy arrived from Shopto today and played the first two missions in SP. Loved it, particularly the sandstorm in the second level. 4 player co-op should be an absolute blast.

Thanks Reecie. Dragons Dogma is my purchase this week so I'm not too bothered thankfully.

played a couple of missions and 1st thing you notice the lack of control of other team mates compared to GRAW. Not a big thing, it feels more scripted now & streamlined and thats were I think the COD comparisons are coming from

so far, worth renting as I have no interest in MP

Really liking it after a good session this afternoon.

First impressions (from somebody who has never played a Ghost Recon game before).

Really enjoyed the second mission in the sandstorm. Seems like there is a good mixture of being able to stealth missions or going balls out.

Weapon customisation seems really good. Loads of choice and you can customize for single player too.

Love how you can tag the enemies and the friendly AI will take them out on your instruction.

MP has been hit and miss so far. It works which is a good thing but it's a camper's wet dream. The 3rd person cover, the ability to got prone, and the stupid sensors must make it seem like Xmas has come early.

Guerilla and 4 player co-op seem like a waste if there are no lobbies.

This is crap then, without an online pass you can't play co-op.

You CAN play multiplayer, but you can't invite or join any friends, just play on your own.

So thankyou Ubisoft, the multiplayer experience of playing with randoms is awful and has done nothing to sell your game to me.

Initial impressions are good. Joined a friend for a little co-op mission followed by a tad of Guerilla. No connection issues or lag, gameplay felt incredibly tight and responsive.

Had a couple of matches of multiplayer which were far more enjoyable than any I played during the beta. It seems, at least on the strength of those games, that folks who have bought it actually grasp the meaning of teamplay.

The one thing that does still bug me from the beta is splitting the team into two squads. With only a maximum of 6 aside and various factors that block spawning, it's frustrating to be limited to a choice of only one or two other teammates.

What? Even worse than I thought you mean you can't party up and play in a squad or just can't join a friend in game. Seems really weird if co-op and guerilla force you to only play with friends due to no lobby system yet MP play is the other way around

I do quite fancy this as I enjoyed the beta but unless my regular 360 crew get it we have a non starter. My hope I guess is that the price drops rapidly and so they are more inclined to pick it up.

I still don't understand about moaning about the online pass on the day of release.
If you bought the game today, you will have the pass
