Inside Llewyn Davis - new film from The Coen Brothers

Set in the early 60s folk scene. Starring Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake & John Goodman.

Superb central performance from Isaac (who can also carry a tune rather well), beautiful cinematography, great period detail & music, & a few big laughs.

Plus the best cat in a movie ever.

Highly recommended.

Love the Coen Brothers so I'll definitely be seeing this BUT the trailers I've seen make it look very dull. Mind you the trailer for Nebraska was awful but I really liked that.

Yup as said I LOVE the Coen's too (on the whole haha), but the trailer for this is one of the worst I have seen for a long time, its just off putting beyond words.
I have seen it play before a lot of films now, some packed cinema screens and not one laugh or titter!

Still it is the Coen's! so I have to see it. Even if I hate a few of their more recent films beyond words. You definitely cannot put a Coen film into a trailer, I still cannot see how a trailer for most of their films ever work! but the films do and that is all that matters.

It's the same ending as Apocalypto if you replace the Spanish Armada with Bob Dylan.

Very good, very Coen film. Somewhere around the middle of their filmography for me (which is way higher than most filmmakers' best). I'd say most will rate it similarly to A Serious Man, whichever way they swung on that.

I can't make my mind up on this one. It's beautifully filmed and performed, wonderfully atmospheric and is packed full of Coen oddness - and yet, I felt such a distance from any of the characters, what was there to care about ?
Still, I can't stop thinking about it and that's always a good sign.

Saw it last night and agree with baloobas - but I suspect the main character not being very likeable was deliberate.

I would rate it about the same as A Serious Man - perhaps lower. Beautifully made but not nearly as funny.

Question: As the title 'Inside Llewyn Davis' doesn't appear in either the opening or closing credits, is this technically an untitled film?
