Too much for me - cant imagine it being a big success at that price I have to say. At 40 quid everyone and their dog would have bought it.

Is it true that the reason it's not coming out in the US until May 19 is because they have to retool the production line to make stronger boards for heavier people

I bet you will be hard pressed to find a copy on release date. This will sell. As it was said above, this is the same price as GH3......for a far superior product.

So things have to be cheap to be a success? You seriously thought it would come out at £40 ? LOL, i was thinking £60 but an extra tenner is neither here or there

Evilbones in "everything Nintendo sell for the Wii is amazing value" shocker!

Given the US is going to get for less than the equivalent £50, and i'd imagine probably closer to £40, then £70 is rather expensive IMO.

When you factor in that its a peripheral that may only be used for a handful of games, and costs more than a 3rd of the price of the console, then it seems even more expensive in my mind.

Don't get me wrong, I was well up for this, when I thought it would cost £40, and it definitely looks like a great product. But game developers aren't really even being that innovative with the Wiimote yet, and despite the massive hardware sales 3rd party developers aren't falling over themselves to make their big titles major Wii hits.

I imagine Wii Fit will sell out straight away, and will be in as much demand as Wii consoles. But that's because its a product that directly appeals to the new mass market the Wii has unlocked.

As a pure gaming purchase its not got me convinced that its worth the money, or will deliver on the promise.

Here we go US getting it at such and such excuse, remeber the days Nintendo use to get change the $ to £, you are lucky it's not a hundred quid.

The UK is alot more expensive than the US that is a fact, lets here someone mention they are not getting it until its drops in price (Has if that will happen)
I dont look at it in % of the system cost, i look at it in % raise in games, the RRP for most Wii games is £39.99 so you are paying £40 for the board, good deal for me.

My girlfriend is over the moon there's finally a release date etc. She's already pre-ordered hers and booked the day off work to go and get it. She doesn't care how much it's going to cost.

No - I'm waiting for an email from Amazon.com to say the US pre-order is available. I'll post here when it finally comes through.

They have said its going to be less than $100, so its £50 max for them.

No, but it costs approaching 40% of the console. I'm sure it'll be good, I'm sure a fair few will buy it regardless. I'm positive there are a lot of us who won't because of the price though.

Hopefully once the hype and inevitable supply problems are gone we will see a reduction/discount from the RRP. Would need to be in the £40-£50 bracket before I even start to think about it.

GH3 sold by the buckets that was 40% of the console with faulty sound to boot.

I would say Wii Fit will go around £40 to £50 in about 3 years time, enjoy your wait.

It's got a similar RRP to Guitar Hero, that sells well enough! I think yiou'll struggle to find a copy on release week

I imagine there will be many people selling them second hand when the novelty value wears off at that price though....

Novelty? where have i heard that before? IF people where to sell them i bet you they would be asking more than the RRP.

I dont see GH3's piling up on Flea Bay

Looks like W H Smiths have set the benchmark for realistic preorder prices - 57.39

Wii Fit Preorder

Amazon UK and Play.com both seem still to be holding their cards close to their chest as far as their preorder price goes
