Year One - A warning from History

Couldn't find a thread for this and having just watched it, I'm not surprised.

Shockingly bad film. It has just about trumped Land of the Lost for my worst film of the year. At least LOTL had Anna Friel in it.

Not in the least bit funny (and I'm a big fan of both leads). And Paul Rudd, usually the best part of any film, was completely wasted.

How did this get made?

Total ****.

I saw this a few weeks ago and couldn't find a thread on it either... nor could I be bothered to start one.

Generally agree with all rustybins comments though I'd say Land of the Lost beats this by a country mile for worst film this year... so far (surely this is the lowest we can go).

Had you started one, I could have done something constructive with my Friday evening. The way I see it, you owe me 100 mins of my life.

My sincere apologies... but would you have taken any notice of one chap's opinion?

No, probably not - especially as I'm a big fan of Jack Black - I'd have watched it anyway.

Although you might have lowered my expectations allowing me to enjoy it more!

I was shocked at how poor this was considering the cast.

In fact, I can barely remember anything about it and I only watched it a week or so ago!

So it's no Mel Brooks' History of the World: Part One then?

I watched this over the weekend and I agree it's bad but I had been expecting it to be so.

There wasn't even any funny parts, I don't remember laughing at all. David Cross was the best thing about it.

Harold Ramis should retire from directing/writing as his output has been poor since Groundhod day (although he direct A Benihana Christmas which was sublime but he didn't write it).

Jack Black leaving to create his own Tribe of Danger and Awesomeness made me chuckle slightly, although I think I'd already seen it in the trailer.

The trailer was funnier than the movie. They should have got the guy who edited the trailer to do the movie, might have turned out a bit better.

Some of Michael Cera's stuff was funny but it was just Michael Cera being Michael Cera.
