The region 1 DVDs are defintely the way to go for Hitchcock's 1960's films, however the region 2 box sets at Amazon work out at something like Ł3.25 per film

There are some (potentially) good Hitchcock sets coming out in France soon covering the period 1927 to 1940:

I notice a few sites are listing Carlton's three film Hitchcock box as being OOP; I wonder if, at last, Granada Ventures (as they are now) are prepping a bigger Hitch release?

The BBFC web site lists Granada Ventures' "The Lady Vanishes" as being given a "U" certificate on 27/Jan/2005. Could it be that they've had to resubmit the film for classification because they're planning to issue to excellent transfer that was used in the German "Early Years" box set? I did try emailing Granada, but I didn't get a response

I'm not too sure what the deal is with the recent spate of poor quality UK releases from Waterfall Home Entertainment/GMVS Ltd - surely Granada still own the rights to the films?
