Old adverts were kind of great

I got lost in a YouTube black hole last night as I discovered a bunch of adverts I remembered from when I was a kid (80s/90s). I don't know if I just have rose-tinted glasses, but goddamn lots of these were just great. The effort put into the music was just miles ahead of what we get today.

Anyone remember these?

The old Coke advert although sickly sweet is miles better than the latest atrocities

"I Just Love Coke" = KNOB

"Its delicious and makes me feel good" = KNOB

Great thread! I miss the 80s/90s so much.

Here are a few that came to my mind...

Yeah that "with sugar or without?" Coke advert is truly astonishing - If it ultimately doesn't matter which one you choose because they both taste just as good, then what is the point in manufacturing the extrmely unhealthy, heavily sugared original?

That Tango one was incredible at the time. Still raises the pulse now in fact!

Here's some classic Christmas ads.

Dug up some more:

I think this may have been the only Michael J. Fox Pepsi ad that we got in the UK (at least, it's the only one I ever remember), but looking on YouTube he did quite a few more.

I liked the Picnic advert (always loved the camel dancing in the background)

and the Chewits advert. "Eurgh."

Somewhere on tape, I've a recording when me and my Dad sang to the Smiths Crisps advert with the singing potatoes - "we want to be ... Smiths Crisps ... "

I always loved this advert as a kid. Great memories of me and my dad cracking up the first time we saw it.
