As mentioned by President Trump.

Fans of the John Wick films might want to check out Polar when it debuts on the 25th.

Based on a graphic novel, it stars Mads Mikkelsen as an ageing hitman who goes on a roaring rampage when his retirement plans go south.

Comedy villain Matt Lucas feels a bit out of place with the rest of it, but it's extremely bloody & great fun.

I'd also recommend not watching the trailer as it gives away a lot of the good stuff.

The Fyre Festival doc on Netflix is excellent, although you do have to control your own anger towards Billy McFarland. What a ****.

Will be interested to know what you think of Polar, the reviews are terrible! Like really, really harsh and angry at it.

That's because it's dreadful. I'm not angry about it though - win some, lose some.

It looked like it could be fun from the trailer, but yeah its getting trashed in reviews, about 21 minutes in and Matt Lucas is painfully miscast, he is terrible. Mads Mikkelsen is the best thing about it. Just going to leave it on in the background while doing some web design work

Although Lucas is awfully miscast, the more you see from the rest of the cast, the more you realise he's one of the better things in it (the mighty Mads aside, who at least has the decency to look as though he wished he was somewhere else). The editor should be drummed out of the industry - even in the non-action scenes the cutting is ****-poor. And the director, whose previous life as a pop video director is one that you hope he'll return to, has such a fixation with the bum of one of the actresses that I assumed he was giving her one.

Managed about 30 minutes of Polar, the bad reviews are justified.
Netflix just throw their money at ****, its not a good way to build a library of their own films.

Yes I enjoyed this as well. The first episode has a lot of setup and character introductions but it really pays off in the second episode and the zombie stuff is refreshingly different and well thought out. A good first 6 episodes and I'm looking forward to the second season (though apparently they only start filming next month so it'll be a long wait).

New sci-fi series Nightflyers is now on NF, might be good. Got to be better than their films

Watched the trailer for Russian Doll, not sure about this but will give it a try

Russian Doll gets pretty good after an iffy start. A quick watch, too.
I've watched the first couple of eps of Nightflyers, not bad. A lot of worldbuilding as you'd expect from a GRRM story. Could do with some actors with a bit more charisma but I'm intrigued.

The latest Kevin Smith stand up which took place literally an hour before the massive heart attack he survived, called Silent but Deadly is on Prime.

I got half way through episode 2 of Russian Doll and don't think I can take anymore. I think it's meant to be a comedy but I didn't laugh once in the first episode and only chuckled at a couple of the deaths in the second. Mostly I just wanted her to die as she's pretty damn horrible! Preferably start taking down her awful friends as well.

There isn't much comedy but I am really into it now, took about 3 episodes to find it's feet.
