Not many Burt Reynolds movies on Blu-Ray

Is it just me or are there a surprising lack of Burt Reynolds movies on Blu-Ray. I'm wondering why we haven't seen Hustle and Sharky's Machine on the format (come to think of it they weren't on DVD either). Is it some kind of copywrite block ? I'd be grateful if someone could comment as to why.

I imagine the reason Sharky's Machine (which came out on DVD in the States and Australia, btw) hasn't hit blu is because it's fairly ****.

I'd love a double pack of Gator and White Lightning, mind.

A movie being **** doesn't seem like a reason for it not being released on Blu-Ray.

Not typical Burt roles but we have Deliverance and Boogie Nights.

Both masterpieces.

MALONE has just been released in Germany. I think the only DVD available was MGM on demand.

I have a theory that the best Burt Reynolds films star the big man when he doesn't have a moustache. Deliverance, White Lightning, Boogie Nights (full beard) and Navajo Joe - arguably his best work (although Navajo Joe might be stretching it) and in all he has no 'tache.

Ooh, what's Alt about it?

& I'm guessing it's not an 'official' dvd?

I've got the German dvd (the only version in anamorphic widescreen as far as I know) which has the most hilarious cover art ever:

The Alternate Version included numerous outtakes which include a much longer party scene following the fight at the Palomino Club in which: Ski discusses his marital woes with Gwen in Hooper's kitchen (a dropped subplot); an awake, and very rowdy, crowd views "stunt reels" culled from "Deliverance"; and Jocko and Sonny have a lengthier sunrise discussion about babies. Later on, Sonny and Ski also get into a hairy fistfight outside of Sonny's trailer.

This Alt Version was screened on BBC1 a few months ago and (as far as I know ) this version is not available on video or DVD

Definitely Mean Machine. Remember about 1980 or so when it was shown on ITV, split either side of New at Ten, and uncut with the swearing during the neck break scene intact. Go Tell the Spartans is about the only other film shown roundabout the same time on ITV with the swearing left in.

Hooper is on BBC One late Saturday night (very late, 1am, more like early Sunday!). It's not HD, but it is anamorphic widescreen & looking very nice, as I remember from the last time it was on.
