I saw Dave Prowse the other week. Quite frankly, stiffing a man for a few thousand quid seems pretty immoral when that man is clearly getting on in years and walks with 2 sticks.

George Lucas is Michael Jackson. Star Wars is his face.

I managed to get hold of the Despecialized ROTJ... what a palaver, dunno if I can be bothered trying to get the other two, but I will say that the quality was superb. It looks halfway between an upscaled DVD and a blu-ray, closer to the latter if anything. I'd never heard of ACVHD DVDs before - if you can get a DVD in that quality, why aren't they all like that?

Sure there's a quality dip in ROTJ (mainly down to the ewoks and a lesser performance from Harrison Ford), but it's still in a different league from those awful prequels. And I've been saying it for years, Mark Hammill is absolutely superb during the grand finale. Just when the trilogy needed him to step up, he did just that.

Jedi was a pain in the ass to open, but there were no problems with the other two.

That's better than my Mona Lisa analogy.

Revenge Of The Sith kicks Jedi's ass all over the place.

Jedi is superb - just for the opening scenes & the speeda bikes.

Went to cinema when it was released (was 6)

Revenge of the Sith is just as bad as Attack of the Clones, and haven't sat through them since they came out.

Return of the Jedi's second half is just brilliant even with the ewoks. The Jabba's Palace sequence is very tedious though.

Revenge of the Sith is a far better film than Jedi. If it had decent actors in the parts of Anakin, Padme and the Emperor it would be classic Star Wars.

Sith is FAR superior to the other prequels. Pulled up the thread from 2005 the other day and was surprised to see most people here were gushing all over it at the time.

I wouldn't say it's better than Jedi though, I don't know why that film gets such a bad rap. I prefer it to A New Hope (which is horribly dated).

This is great, except I would change the date on the middle picture to 1997, 2011 can be the coffin.

However clunky and unsophisticated it is, the fight between Luke and Vader in ROTJ is so much more resonant than Sith and Obi Wan/Anakin and Lucas had years to come up with something better. So no, I don't think it's a better film.

The only thing preventing Sith from being really good is the performances. They seem to take a dive after Clones, which I rather like (cue tumbleweed).

For Hayden, it's probably because he's more suited to playing a whiny teen than a war-hardened general. And for Portman, I think she just stopped trying.

But McGregor seems to finally hit his stride in Sith. Perhaps he finally got used to all that green screen.

Sith's the best of the prequils. Not saying much i know but at least Lucas get's the pacing better and we don't have an hour of Darth Emo moping about like in Clones.

This. There's part of Jedi that are great, but, as a film, Sith is the better one to sit down and watch. Even as a 12 year old, watching in the cinema, it just felt all wrong.

I got the Despecialized version of New Hope (went for the 7gb one). Got it on my pc now and it's only opening with VLC. How do I get it from there onto a disc and will it lose quality burning it onto a normal 4.7gb disc? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Really wanna watch it on the 42" TV!
