Shardlake Series by CJ Sansom

Any other readers of these? The first (Dissolution) is bit on the clunky side as far as writing goes but the others go along at a quick enough pace you can ignore his lack of subtlety with Chekhov's Gun style foreshadowing and habit of overexplaning.

They were in a 3 for 2 sale at Waterstones so I've now read the last three in quick succession. Apparently there's a fourth due this year though I guess it'll be in hardback first .

Theo, I bought them from Waterstones when they were last on offer

Agree with you about Dissolution, but it was great once it got going

Dark Fire is as good, if not better

Still have Sovereign and Revelation to read...so which one havent you got

(The fifth one is due out this year )
