Friday the 13th Parts 1-8 on blu (boxset end of 2009)

Paramount Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring 'Friday the 13th Unrated: Deluxe Edition' to Blu-ray on February 3rd, day-and-date with the DVD re-release. Technical specs have yet to be announced, but you can expect the usual Paramount treatment of 1080p video accompanied by a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack.

Extras have also yet to be announced for the Blu-ray, but it should mirror the DVD release which includes:

Commentary: Commentary by director Sean Cunningham (on the WB international version - trying to access)
Fresh Cuts: New Tales from "Friday the 13th"
Man Behind the Legacy: Sean S. Cunningham
Friday the 13th - Special Reunion
Lost Tales from Camp Blood - Part 1
Theatrical Trailer - Used on 2004 release

Looking good hopefully they'll be more to follow.

FYI, Paramount's UK division has announced the Blu-Ray releases of Friday The 13th Parts 2 and 3 for February 9th. (Paramount don't own Part 1 in the UK, Warners do).

It will be if it's paramount. I'm waiting for the sequels as the first is not my favourite by a long shot.

EDIT - jinx! no comebacks!

Is the Peter Bracke mentioned in that review the same hack who does the reviews for highdefdigest?

It's quality. You can well imagine it hangin about with R2-D2. And when the fan is switched on it looks like it's scanning for life-forms like R2-D2 does on the ice world of Hoth when Luke Skywalker goes missing. Quality in moton. The other day it disappeared. I said, "where's the bag-l gone? have the jawas come to pick it up in the sandcrawler?" to which one of the girls in the office replied, "No, Les the porter!" —Captainchode

*wants to comment on the above review but the resulting jinx from earlier has forced the poor little SPACE DUCK into silence - however his thoughts are that this film looks like it must be bought on blu despite being a halloween fan for so many years but after the zombie remake it looks like F13 may be the way forward*

Both of the reviews linked to above, state that it's Region A. Are they just quoting what's on the cover, towing the party line, or is it likely to be Region A only?
