Question are there any xbox1 games like world of warcraft?

got a boss at work who's got an xbox1 and wants to get some games that are like world of warcraft, are there any?
if so what are they?
Since I've had my 360 I've not really kept up with the old xbox titles.
cheers in advance.

None at all. There was a MMORPG being developed for it called True Fantasy Live Online, but that was canned after disagreements between Microsoft and Level-5 (who were developing it). It does have Phantasy Star Online, which is an online hack 'n' slash title, but it's not really anything like World of Warcraft.

Depends what he means by like WOW I guess, "Elder Scrolls 3 : Morrowind", is an RPG that plays in a similar way to WOW (I believe, haven't actually played WOW myself) but it's just a single player game rather than a multi-player online game, so a rather different experience, but depends what he's looking for.

You could recommend Fable at a stretch.

Useful

Fable is about the closest along with Oblivion. Has he not got a PC then that he can play WoW on?

There's no Oblivion for Xbox1, it's Morrowind. There's also Arx Fatalis. Neither are online games, but are pretty decent. Jade Empire's good too.

The difference between all of the games you're mentioning is that they take SKILL to play and are not designed to just eat up time in order to level up whilst under subscription, like WoW. It's a pointless boring trudge of levelling for people who can't really play games.

Which is why I said "no, thank god".

You know what, I actually take that as a bit of an insult. So because I play WoW, i am therefore wasting my time achieving nothing using no skill? Gee, and here I was thinking I was getting more entertainment per pound than any other game I've played.

For 9 quid a month I get a game that still after 15 months for me provides entertainment almost every day of the week. If that saves me having to spend 40 quid a pop on another game that will last me a fraction of that, then in my opinion that's good value.

I agree completely. People that believe WoW requires no skill clearly haven't played the game long enough.

I tried to play it for "long enough" but then I fell asleep and never woke up.

The whole point of WoW is that it's been made as fantasy-generic and user-friendly (for non-gamers) as possible, hence why so many people play it and subscribe. Fine, it's "accessible" and you enjoy it, but gameplay wise it's prehistorically simple and as interesting as weak tea, to me anyway.
