Uniforms look like a stiffer more vibrant version of the ones they had on voyager. But we moved pased that to the grey shoulder with the coloured shirts type for DS9 and First Contact and after.

They paid less for season 2 meaning CBS had to make up the difference and still were not happy with the product.

You can't get any toys based on discovery so the people that make them are not happy with it either.

Netflix would have seen a bit more than a title card and PS in what looks like a civilian uniform, before making the decsion to pass, Netflix pay lots of money for stuff that ends up being naff but the cost of Picard is supposed to be higher than discovery and after being burned twice who can blame them for passing.

Its the same team behind it

Licencees don't like it

It's not Picard as we knew him which is not what fans want to see

TNG aesthetic is unlikely

How could you expect this to be a hit no fan wants to see picard as an old miserable bitter ******* or head of section 31 both versions are not who picard was.

It didn't work for Luke Skywalker or Professor X (I did not like that he was so frail and ill in Logan) and it won't work here, unless you are going to bring him back as he was but older, wiser perhaps a little tired at first but gets through it during the course of events it will be last jedi backlash all over again.

I expect another mawling for AK and crew simlar to what Rick Berman got for killing Kirk off if they mess this up.
Who says it's naff? It's not the Trek I grew up with but I am sure people new to Trek will get into DIS easier then the older shows.

I would rather wait and see the Picard show before voicing scorn toward it. Until then everything is just speculation.

First teaser trailer (which has since been removed for some reason, but some kind soul has uploaded it elsewhere): https://streamable.com/ad5re
Honestly? Gave me chills. The tease of the theme tune was lovely (and on the Picard flute, no less!)

Can't learn much from that but it's a good teaser. Was the event discussed in the trailer something we have already seen?

Events that happened at the beginning of JJ's Star Trek and referenced in Star Trek online 15 years before the events in these series, so we are already referencing something that might be more interesting.

Compared to how he looked at the announcement during the convention PS really looks old at the end - maybe better lighting is needed - No way is he gonna be in command of a starship is this.

Was that Burnham doing the voiceover? please say its not.

If it lines up with Supernova that Spock Prime tried to prevent before he got dragged back in time to alternate reality then the Comics that tied into the film had Data who had been resurrected from B4 as Captain of the Enterprise in the Prime Time Line..

What I mean is, is the dog significant to Picard? Is there something in the canon I don't know about as a purely TV watcher? Or is it just a random new addition?
