The Manchester Utd Thread 2015/2016

I've been around here long enough to remember some of you saying it was absolutely right when Wenger was sent to the stands for kicking a water bottle in a game against United.
Your managers not being picked on. He's just a dick head....

Barges our player in the back, no yellow card, their manager shows disaproval, no sending off. Where is the consistant monkeyman when you want him?

Have they overwatered the turf or is this game being played in slow motion?

MickyT and Rooney look livelier than anything we've seen all game, but why are we so sluggish in possession? Several gaping chances to open the game up and we hold on to the ball for too long each time.

I'm not a conspiracy nut, but you're meant to get 30 seconds for a subsitition, the ref showed a minimum of 4 minutes overtime and then he blew on 94, just as we were attacking.

That aside, West Ham showed no intention to try and win the game and we were hopeless in trying to break them down.

Two steps backwards.

In spite of everything, in spite of feeling **** off about this & other results. I don't have that useless feeling that I had under the previous two so called managers. There are a lot of positives. We make lots of chances, we play further up field & if we had a little more luck (that we did make) we could have won these matches. We just need to get the results that match the way we are playing, the team will then grow in confidence & I will be surprised if we don't go on a good run soon.

micon showing positivity. I agree though - this will come right - we just can't expect it to be quick and easy after the two muppets we've had as manager.

Is what a first ?? Europa League teams playing on a Sunday ? No, it's a UEFA rule that they have to. Non-televised games on a Sunday being moved to a TV time ? No, that also came in this season IIRC. All games on a Sunday in the PL are either on TV or kick off at the same time as a TV game.

Klopp and Conte haven't broken any rules yet. Mourinho - who was vastly overreacting to Pogba being correctly booked for a blatant dive - did and got the same punishment that Wenger got when he did the same thing at the same ground 7 years ago .... go figure

To be fair, no one is more qualified to advise on the Europa League than a Liverpool fan.

Well it's coming up to Christmas & getting colder, so do they go to their appartment in Dubai or the villa in The Bahamas, maybe buy the kids a Ferrari each, yes much more pressing matters. Maybe on the other hand they could start a school for referees to learn how to referee properly. Since that Italian referee retired I don't think there has been a good ref, perhaps they like betting, I don't know, but they & their linesmen get too many things wrong.

Mourinho might be a dick with a kick, but he's not referee who can't see.

The biggest gripe I have is that refs are not accountable. They never explain their decisions, and when they do no action is (publically at least) taken against them. PL refs are professional and get paid well but there is a complete lack of consistency and they act with impunity.

Not condemning Jose and didn't see the Pogba incident - but it amazes me more managers don't explode on the touchline, so many poor poor decisions that cost matches are made most weeks.

Not sure what they are supposed to explain, they're ragging it down a pitch trying to follow someone who can run it in no time. They're watching the ball, everyone else and they do their best to make the right call.

It's not 100% perfect but then again neither is anyone else and to be honest a referee generally gets it less wrong than the crowd or the pundits, just watch any ball that hits an opponent on the chest in the box.

It's all very well watching 10 replays in slow motion from various angles, and then Gary Neville going "I've seen them given" from the comfort of his TV studio (and with the benefit of an ex referee advising him the letter of the law).

I'm not saying it's ideal, but can't really see what the solution would be. Video replays would slow the game down.

To make them accountable what could you do? Ban them for making an error? Bring up other referees who aren't as good but haven't been banned yet?

Replay the game when the referee holds his hands up to making a mistake?
