Quit while you're behind. When everyone thinks you're a troll in every sports thread you post in, it's time to stop.

Its a strange narrative thats coming out, this is a new dawn for the PL. Clubs will do things differently. Rubbish.

What does 'doing a Leicester' even mean. Taking nothing at all away from them, but they won it in circumstances that are never likely to happen again. The PL has generally had some great teams, Utd 94, 99, 2006-2009, Arsenal when they went unbeaten, Chelsea in Jose's first spell. If any of those teams were around, Leicester would not have stood a chance.

If only every team could pluck players from L2 in France and make them into PFA player of the year in two years! Its similar to when Utd got Cantona, it just worked, no one thought he would have the impact he had - it didn't mean that you could just go and find flawed, erratic French strikers and turn them into legends.

Liecester themselves will now find it harder to find it harder to buy players. Its a brilliant story, a brilliant season - I just can't see there is a new model for clubs to adhere to.

Agreed, it's not a new dawn, it should just be enjoyed for what it is: an unlikely side having the perfect storm of a season and deservedly winning the title, on merit.

Are you trying to say that Leicester winning the title was a fluke?.....That sounds like jealousy to me.

I think the odds offered by the bookmakers reflect the unlikeliness of what has happened.

They wouldn't have been the only ones with comical odds though, can't find the full odds at the beginning of the season but have

Chelsea 13/8, Man City 5/2, Arsenal 7/2, Man Utd 5/1, Spurs 100/1, Leicester 5,000/1

Now really, were Spurs 100/1? I'd have thought at best they were as likely as Arsenal to win it.

I can't see how bookies have really lost out, they've pocketed every other bet placed as well as every long shot bet in the history of football. They'll do alright.

Agreed. leicester's real odds were not 5000-1. When we think of Forest for example, there is some level of precident. I also read that there were only about 20 bets at that price that were still outstanding - others were cashed out early.

Im sure whatever wagers the bookies got from bets on Utd, City, Chelsea, Arsenal etc more than cover the payout for Leicester. Bookies never lose!

Bookies lost out by Ł10 million plus

William Hill Plc and other bookmakers gave better chances to finding Elvis Presley alive (2,000-1) or discovering the Loch Ness monster (500-1) than to Leicester City F.C. winning this season’s English Premier League soccer title. It won’t make that mistake again.

In Ladbrokes’ 130-year existence, the company has never paid out bets on odds of 5,000-1. The company accepted 47 bets at 5,000-1, and 23 of them are still live, with others deciding to cash out.

The league winners market must be tiny really. Not many people want to put small stakes on a bet that takes almost a year to settle.

When the dust settles, their net profit on the season will be down, that's all.

...it's almost like one of those hopelessly romantic Brit films, but this one actually came true!

...wonder where they'll finish next season...better not be above us again!
