Exactly. A played having a beneficial clause for not making the CL makes zero sense.

The French star has told team-mates he does not believe United have made any progress since he left the first time for Juventus seven years ago.

And he is not convinced that Solskjaer is the right man to turn their fortunes around.

That will delight Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane who wants Pogba at the Bernabeu at the end of the season.

We can reveal Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola cancelled a meeting with United last week about a new deal for the Frenchman as he is so determined to quit.

Solskjaer said three weeks ago Pogba was “vital” to United’s future but a rethink may be taking place at Old Trafford.

I'm done with him. If he was worth the circus - like Beckham - you could tolerate the soap opera. But he's not. He's inconsistent at best. Hard work beats talent. That's why Fergie binned him in the first place.

United aside, the worst thing for Pogba was that France won the World Cup, because now he thinks he's even more important than he already did.

I believe such things happen all the time, or they did in Championship Manager. Relegation release clauses and so forth are fairly common. Especially since some of these players would have signed in a period where CL wasn't deemed certain.

Maybe a release clause is a bit much, but I'd guess they might use it as an excuse for leaving.

As disloyalty clause, if you will?

Pretty decent game actually, between 2 teams who are nowhere near as good as they used to be. We need to win to have any chance of CL!

Outside of the top 2 who shall remain nameless, the rest of the top half the Premier League are as good - and as bad - as each other on their day.

We've got a creativity problem. Second half, Chelsea have sussed us out and it's all variations on the same unsuccessful thing. No idea how you fix it.

I wonder how many players Ole will be allowed to get rid of? I think we have reached the stage where no United player has done enough this season to guarantee their position...some have done more than enough to warrant immediate exit! Shockingly awful 'team', I can't stand watching them anymore

...can't even beat a relegated Huddersfield FFS!!

I know people don't think there is such thing as a CL non qualifier release clause, but I can't fathom another explanation.

Can't see a huge clearout, I don't think Ole has the personality for it. I'd say odds on for next PL manager sacked

I think we may still be interested in Lindelof. Do you rate him? Or is your entire defence too poor?

I'd say he's the best centre half we have, possibly player of the season?

Is that damning with faint praise?

Probably!

It's a long way away from Vidic and Ferdinand that's for sure.

The big name players at the club are destabilising the team. I'd ship them all out and have a season with the kids. It can't be any worse than it already is. Some, like Ibrahimovic, actually brought something to the whole squad but people like Pogba are problematic. I keep hearing that he's "world class" but I don't agree. Mostly, he's just an expensive Carlton Palmer.

Lionel Messi is world class, he turns up week in and week out, plays well against good teams and bad. Pogba seems to turn up when he can sort of be bothered, put in half a shift against an OK team and everyone seems to start raving about what a talent he can be.

How many of our recent expensive flops have gone on to great things after United?

Di Maria, maybe. Not many others though. Let him go if he thinks he's so good. Martial as well, although that would sadden me.
