I think we'll be squabbling for fourth place with Arsenal and Liverpool, Chelsea, City and Spurs are better than us (...let's face it, we only nicked it from Spurs 'cos Kane wasn't playing). So, so disappointing to see how poor we are when up against quality opposition

Why? You think we need another average, over-hyped player dropped into this utter shambles of a so called United team?

Ah well, top four at best and Maureen gone at the end of the season...best we can hope for really... ...Christ, we are going to get mauled by City!!

It has been blatantly obvious for weeks that we were hitting above our weight. De Gea is the ONLY top player we have, most of the rest are average. After 5 years in the wilderness we should have the players similar to city, but we don't. I even read reports of taking on Arsenals leftovers , to go along chelsea & the rest, leftovers. We have overpaid for most of our 'players', our scouts are useless, & if Mourinho is part of it then he is as bad. Of the top six teams we have the poorest team & possibly the poorest manager. I like Mourinho but this is his second season & it is no where near good enough. I know some Real Madrid supporters & they said at the time (to my surprise) that the supporter didn't like him. I can see us playing a couple of weak teams & winning them and everyone saying we are back to normal, well we won't be. When I said 1-0 against Southampton was poor, I knew exactly what that meant, but others (from our & other teams) thinking they were clever, came back with sarcastic comments, well now the **** has hit the fan & my meaning is clear to all. In spite of multi millions of pounds spent on players we are no better than when we were with moyes. The club needs to be grabbed by the scruff of the neck & many people should be replaced, clearly not just players. Two more problems... sponsors & new fans. I bet youngsters in the far east & around the world would have watched the two Manchester teams today & I doubt if United would have gained any. Sponsors won't keep falling over themselves to use us with play like this season. Take note Manchester United.

You'll always have to overpay for your players, like it or not, Manchester isn't a glamour location and your neighbours pay better wages and have more chances of winning things. I really cannot see top players coming near you, except for a premium.

We (almost) always have overpaid. I can't remember many players who've come just because we're United, not since Keane.

Like it or not, we haven't got the money to spunk around like City have. Sure, we have got megabucks, but were not in the same ballpark and won't be unless someone clips their wings.

What galls is the way we are playing. It's not the cavalier manner we remember from the 90s and 00s, when did we last score 6?

I still maintain we're better now than under the last two managers, even if it's not good enough.

So Madrid is a glamour location, you freeze to death in the winter & overheat in the summer. Barcelona maybe, well if you get past the civil war that they are trying to start, you also have it too hot in the summer, maybe freezing Germany. So what is a glamour location? Manchester United is the richest club in the world & it is not beyond them to match the leading teams, but the players we have bought have been below par. That is the number one item that needs addressing.

You do get that Manchester United might be the richest team, but it has to be self sufficient right? It really cannot compete with the vast riches of some other clubs.

Can't describe what a glamour location is really, I guess it's subjective. But I live very close to Manchester and I've been to Madrid and Barcelona, and I know which one I'd choose to live in.

Also we charge a lot more in tax than some other countries. A lot of players would demand a net salary, further increasing UK costs

As opposed to getting wrinkly skin in Manchester because it's raining all the time?

I doubt South Americans find Spain too hot, plus the added bonus of being able to speak the lingo for a lot of them.

I have friends who live in Madrid & I have been there in their winter, believe you me it's the coldest I have ever been. The Madrid people have a saying that goes like ' the only good time in Madrid is spring & Autumn'. It is because Madrid is in the centre of the country & in the mountains. Much too hot in summer & freezing in winter. I woke up one december day to look out of the window only to see a total white Madrid. It surprised me, but it is the norm. Madrid is a very beautiful city, but the coasts are the best weather, & I will be over there shortly.

News seems to be spreading tonight that Liam Miller is battling cancer - 36 years old, with young kids apparently

Tam McManus @The_Tman10
Awful news about Liam Miller keep the fingers crossed that he somehow pulls through. Was in the USA for treatment this month and flys back tomorrow to start chemo here. He’s still fighting it. Will say a prayer for him tonight. 🙏🏻

Zlatan and Pogba in the squad for tomorrow.

Hope it gives the others a kick up the bum.

Pogba starting would be a massive lift. Surprised to see Zlatan back so quickly, and would have thought he would get some reserve minutes first. Might see him for 5 mins or so.
