Lucas gave away a couple of those,it was bound to cost us. He's based his whole career on giving free kicks away in dangerous positions. As for Benteke surely he has no defenders left now,he's pony. He should've won us that game by a couple of goals.

At least Sturridge got a good few minutes under his belt, he looked more dangerous than Benteke has all season

wonder how much of a hit we'll take on Benteke in the summer? i'm guessing we'll do well to recoup 20 mill.

You would think he has some bench warming to do now as well with Sturridge back.

One plus side is our run up to the Cup Final is now Villa, Augsburg and Augsburg

For me there's no plus side to being knocked out of the FA cup

His days are definitely numbered. He's been on the bench in all the league games for ages.

If Big Sam is still around in the prem, he'll no doubt come in for him.

Origi and Sturridge are both far more mobile than him. And Sturridge showed he needs zero space to engineer a chance.

Hopefully Benteke will have a decent Euros and we can not lose too much on him. Another one on one wasted, and that header over the top he was pretty much a free header.

Still can't believe we played such a weakened team again, especially when we're so far adrift of anything in the league. I thought the reserves played well again, but it should have been a much stronger team.

Micon, do you really not know how retarded you sound with your six year old rhymes?

I recall being slammed on here for suggesting you'd written your season off, but I'm really struggling to see the logic behind the team selection. A CL place seems unrealistic and a decent FA Cup run would at least put a smile on your faces. Are you really resting players for Aston Villa?

Maybe he still thinks there is something possible in the league and that's why he played the weakened team, but I can't see it myself and would rather him have gone for an FA cup run.

Was it a weakened team? Some of those players looked better than the regulars. I like that Klopp is showing faith in the young lads.

I suppose we'll know when we see the line-up for the next game.

Flanagan coming back from injury, Llori, Smith, Chirivella, Stewart and Teixeira with Lucas in defence. I'd say that was a weakened side from what he'd play in the league.

Like I said, I thought they did well, but that much inexperience against pretty much West Ham's best team was always going to be an uphill struggle.

To be honest, we'd never have seen these players under Rodgers, so I'm glad we're getting a look at them.

Chirivella was the only one, I felt looked physically out of his depth. The rest look like they can be decent.

With all of the injuries we've had, he's had to rotate the team to try and avoid more injuries and keep the players fresh.

We're on target for at least a 56 game season, which considering how many injuries we've had does take some managing.

He can plan next season, knowing who he can count on.

Only issues I have is, where is Ojo, and why hasn't he played Ward?

You could argue that if he had played stronger teams in the cups we may not have had replays and extra time though.....

It is bizarre that Ward hasn't had a run out.

The stronger team has been ****te, though. There are some good players there that could make the grade without the need to spend big money on several players.

Now we have Coutinho and Sturridge back, and if we can keep them fit, then our goal threat will be hugely increased.

A front line of Coutinho, Strurridge and Firmino, could cause all sorts of issues with their movement.

But do you really think Sturridge will stay fit?
