I think TAA is sick isn't he? I thought I'd heard Mo was fit, although I would hope we can beat Genk...

The Liverpool FC Thread

Big 3 points today. Could easily have gone to 0-2 despite a lot of good chances in our favour. Onwards and upwards.

Lovren is still a liability

Gomez must be terrible in training for Lovren to starting ahead of him.

I don't understand why we're turning to Lovren again, the guy wasn't good enough when the team weren't good.

He has a hand in almost every goal scored against when he's on the pitch...

Lovren was clearly at fault for the Son chance that hit the bar but there was not much he could have done on their goal (which was mainly due to Henderson). I loved how neither Son nor Kane went near VvD - ironic after Kane's comments about him the other day.

We could easily have won that game by 3/4 but for Gazziniga - yet if you only had MoTD you would think Liverpool got lucky

Spurs are such a snide team under Poch and were happy to time waste from the 2nd minute until they went behind. LOL at Rose for Henderson's goal - he was so occupied with fouling Bobby that he got completely caught out.

Tbf if I was Son or Kane I would target Lovren and stay away from VVD. He's a perennial weak link.

Oh absolutely.

It just seemed funny after his quotes in the week ... "you're not indestructible blah blah blah" and I will prove it by not going anywhere near you

Instead I will stuff like try to get your team mate sent off by claiming he hit me in the face

Couldn't believe how obviously they started timewasting from their first throw in, last time I remember that sort of thing was Petr Cech for Chelsea a few years back. At least it made their unsuccessful chase of the game at the end all the sweeter

And I can't believe Danny Murphy in the lead up saying Klopp would take Kane over Firmino! Sure he's a good striker and scores well in the PL but he doesn't contribute much else, whereas Bobby is all over the park linking and creating for others. If Klopp wanted an out and out striker for this team he'd have been in for Aubameyang! Spurs obviously have some decent players, but the only one that I think would have any chance of competing for a spot in our first team is Son.

Agree. Very few Spurs players would get anywhere near this Liverpool team ( or even squad) and Kane is certainly not one of them [ unless we start looking for a player who, by virtue of being England captain, gets away with diving to win penalties on an almost weekly basis ]. I would, however, take Son in a heartbeat and possibly Alderweireld.

For me, Firmino is probably the most underrated forward player in the entire league.

I agree, Son was really good yesterday, I don't rate Kane especially highly tbh, he can't do much off the ball and doesn't create that much, I'd take Bobby over him all day long.

He would be a decent backup, he's a better striker than Origi, although wouldn't cover the wide positions, but for the amount he would cost (inc. wages) I don't think it would be justifiable.

Kelleher starts in goal tomorrow - hopefully we are not going that weak, for want of a better word, with the majority of the outfield players.

On another theme ... Everton AND Liverpool both playing at home within 24 hours of each other has got to be a first, right?

Happened in the league a couple of years ago...Everton played WBA on the Saturday, we played Burnley on the Sunday.

This defence and keeper, not surprisingly, are awful. Though how the lino missed the blatant offside for their equaliser is anyone's guess.

Still - a very inexperienced side is giving a far more experienced Arsenal side a run for its money

There have been a few great goals but the defending at times has been shambolic.

Not sure how Lallana is still playing top flight football. He looks so far off the pace in what is not much more than an exhibition match.

Origi looks better up top now, he’s clueless playing wider, defensively especially.

Alan Smith seems to think this is Liverpool's first team judging by constant comnents on what a "massive result" for Arsenal this is in a "very big game"
