You'll still probably finish above the champions, so it's not all bad.

Lets spend the rest of this season trying to rebuild this shambles of a squad and thinking about who we can bring in to solidy things.

Walker has always had far too many idiotic moments in him, but it's time he was sent on his way and add Dawson to the pile to dump.

Result aside, bearing in mind so called professional footballers who don't have the ability to stand up, the kamikaze backpassing and the ref making a right howler, the attacking portion of our game today, was absolutely zero.

Sherwood set us up with two fast men and we didn't use them at all.

Mind blowing that yet again we look worse than Sunday pub league standard after having a player sent off.

I can't understand his thinking....get your centre half sent off, drop your best central midfielder into centre half despite having a centre half at full back and a full back in midfield.

Props to Sherwood. Really speaking his mind and honest in his analysis.

Ok Tim, so you've recognised that their are too many ponces, with a 'couldn't really give a toss' attitude in that team today, so lets hope the chairman supports you when you ask for some of them to be shown the door.

He's very open and very honest in his view though.

Loved Sherwood's interview. We'll see if he actually follows through with his team selections.

Kaboul should be the first one out of the team.

He'll be out the door with the players in the summer, no doubt about it.

Great comments from Mourinho, perfectly summed up our season. Comfortable on the ball but don't cause the opponents any trouble with it.

Very few of the current squad I'd like to see playing in a Spurs shirt next season.

Loris
Dawson
Kaboul
Sandro
Ade
Lennon
Eriksen

The rest can get ******.

Maybe remove Dawson from that list and put Chiriches in there ?

Of the not so magnificent seven, I would only entertain Chiriches, Paulinho and possibly Eriksen, though he seems pretty gutless anywhere near a tackle.

Hopefully with a few games behind him, Kaboul can regain his steadiness.

**** poor (and that's being kind) free kick from Eriksen, puts us straight under pressure, ridiculous.

Paulinho is looking crap tonight, so now we're behind, we may as well go all out and bring on Townsend.

Give Kane until half time and swap him for Soldado, who will be playing for his place in the team, every time he sets foot on the pitch.

Think its going to be a bit of a bumpy ride the next few games, As we are quite poor in defence

Let's be honest, we're poor all over the pitch.

Kane simply isn't in this match, switch him for Soldado.

Paulinho cant pick a pass, swap him for Townsend.

Walker seems to have the touch of an elephant tonight, hopefully he doesn't gift them an opportunity.

Eriksen yet again, seems scared to be anywhere near a tackle and his corners and crossing has been average at best.

Big 45 minutes ahead, for at least half this team.

And there we have it, **** poor sloppyness in possession has just hit the final nail in the coffin of this shambles.

Come on then Tim, how about putting on someone who might actually entertain those paying spectators ? what's been dished up so far has been woeful.

Absolute garbage against quite an average looking team.

Too many dense players in this squad, not capable of doing the basics.

If it takes another drubbing for Levy to realise that almost without exception, this bunch of players isn't one that should start next season, then, i'll settle for that.

It's nights like these that make you shake your head that we could let Defoe go, ok he doesn't score every game, but he creates his own chances, he excites the crowd and that in turn can rally the rest of the players.

Must have been something going on for their manager to behave like that - thought he was going to stiffen one or two of his own staff.

Benfica had a slow start but once they got in front their European experience really started to show and Spurs never got a sniff all night apart from set pieces.

Nobody could live with their direct power running from midfield and I wouldn't be surprised if they draw you guys forward in the 2nd leg which might give you a chance if you score first but confidence looks a big issue at this stage of the season ... Lennon was absolutely guff all night.

Not looking forward to Sunday, could be really messy. What a dog of a season, should never have got rid of AVB.

Defoe scores on his debut ....... after 16 minutes.

And his second after 23 minutes.

What a thoroughly predictable first half.

Seem to be completely toothless up front.

Everything we have done, has been crying out for Soldado to be available for all of Adebayors knock downs and Townsend/Chadli's crossing.

Eriksen off for Soldado.
