Sounds like we were suicidal at the back again, at what point do recurring individual errors become less of a player problem and more of a strategic problem?

Something that has been bothering me for the last couple of seasons is how ineffective we are when we have attacking corners, more often than not the corner taker even fails to clear the first man, surely things like that are worked on in training, how we can be so bad at that one aspect for such a long period of time baffles me.
I honestly think we need a clearout in the summer, at the moment it feels like square pegs in round holes all over the pitch. Kaboul and Dawson seem past it, Vertonghen is often quite sloppy. I'd be glad to see players like Capoue, Lennon, Chadli, Lamela and Paulinho shown the door. We've badly missed Caulker and BAE this season, very strange and somewhat rash decisions to offload that pair (I know BAE is only on loan).
Eriksen has been the only positive thing to come out of this mess of a campaign imo.

Think Lloris is player of the season, followed by Ade - then Eriksen.
The defence has been a shambles but Jan the Tongan and Kaboul were stalwarts until this season (when fit). I'm hoping new management will be the answer to our defensive flaws, along with never having to play Naughton or BAE. Caulker never really got a good stretch of games with us - look how much people rated Rose after his stint with Sunderland and when he got injured.
Lennon is a serial underperformer, just too inconsistent. As his pace starts to go there'll be no reason to keep him, you can already see him shying away from taking players on. I hope Townsend can get some gametime and push on from explosive run and row Z shot 9/10 times. Paulinho needs guidance, along with the rest of the midfield. They look like they are getting on with what they've been told to do, with zero belief that it's the right strategy imo. Kapoue, Chadli I'm non-plussed about. I only hope one of Soldado/Lamela comes right. Lamela looked unplayable when he first came on as sub int he first few games - fingers crossed eh

The idea of a mass clear-out appears fanciful to me. These players have done nothing but depreciate in value and Levy is not the man to sanction loss-making clearouts. Nor, I would suggest, would making wholesale changes be conducive to any greater stability next season. The Club is going nowhere and it's time to accept that top 4 was over-achievement. We are a slightly above middling premier league outfit with very little chance of recruiting anyone that is in any sort of demand. There will be no more Ossie or Jurgen pulled out of the hat. Maybe when we have a larger stadium then we can hope to offer some degree of competitiveness, but for now we are what we are. All you can hope for is for us to be middling with some style rather than middling and dull. The goal difference table for the top 6 tells you all you need to know about THFC in the 21st century.

See a Sun back page linking us with Klopp? Not in a million years will that come off!

We need a new back line - at least 2 CBs to go with Chiriches and Verthongen if he stays. A proper LB. Not a fan of Walker either. Naughton is ok as a backup but he wants regular first time football and has shown he is not got enough for where we want to be.
Im not sure why any decent coach would want to come to the lane when Levy has no patience. We will end up with Hodgson when we inevitably crumble at the world cup.
Hopefully the squad will be trimmed a bit especially in midfield and they can bring in the right players in the right positions. Its hard to believe we have a DOF whos meant to manage transfer policy as theres very little evidence there was a plan to our buying.

Tim says "im sending them out there to entertain" ....... did he tell the players ?
Same old woeful defending right through the park
Adebayor, Paulinho and Lennon off for Townsend, Soldado and Dembele please.
Decent 3 points in the end, though Fulham tired pretty quickly in the 2nd half and their league position seems to sum up their overall threat, so no need for us to get over excited with our own performance.
Shame we didn't make the changes on the 60 minute mark, to give Townsend and Soldado a greater chance to regain some confidence.
This Sandro tweet nonsense wont have endeared him to the managerial set up, its not as if he was in top form for his last couple of appearances, so wasn't exactly first name on the sheet anyway.

Sherwood is good entertainment in interviews, I'll give him that.
"Sandro's right, he isn't injured. He just isn't good enough to be in the team"
Ouch.

Sherwood is spot on, Sandro has been as bad as some of the 'statue' centre backs in the last 3 or 4 games, so hasn't deserved a place in the team.
Hopefully he gets his sharpness back and we can use him for the last couple of games of the season.

What we need at the Club is another massively high-profile failure. Now, where to find one...

Yep you can see it coming. Him or Hodgson. TBH I would rather stick with Tim.

I wouldn't be too disgruntled if we did end up with Moyes.

Well, he's proven to be unsuccessful so he will fit right in on those terms. Sadly I'm not sure he'd last a week with his drab, dour, workmanlike avoidance of flair and verve.

If Moyes ends up at Spurs I don't think I would even bother watching anymore, proven track record at Everton for being functional but incredibly dull - the reaction he gets from them says it all IMO as they appear to be much better off without him.
This season for him has been nothing short of a car crash, the only way it could have been worse would be if Man Utd were in a relegation battle. To still be below us given the season we have had is hilarious.

The Tottenham Hotspur Thread 2013/2014
The weirdest thing is that our season has been awful, mismanaged and chaotic... Yet were we to win our last 3 games we'd match last seasons record points haul of 72!

I think that says more about the poor quality from the teams in the bottom half of the table. We have been absolutely dire this season from start to finish. I can only think of a handful of games where you could say we played well.

More stories about pochettino but it was on talk sport. Wouldn't mind that appointment at all.
