Not holding out much hope for the italy game on saturday. Half the Irish team is in bits.

No real open side in the England squad, I assume Fourie is still not fully fit? Hopefully Haskell can do a bit better there than he has in the past and I'd have liked to see Robshaw on the bench at least.

Haskell has looked better since he moved to Stade, but yes. If Fourie was fit he's not in the team. Worsley on the bench, so he could come in if need be. Agreed about Robshaw.

In a way I'm glad Martin Williams isn't playing because I'd expect him to give Haskell a schooling, I haven't seen enough of Warburton to know if he's in the same class as Wiliams though.
I'm glad to see they're playing Hook at fullback not because I don't rate him, I've said before he is quality, but Byrne is a better fullback and I'm glad Hook's not getting a chance to run the game from fly half!

Ashton vs Shane has got to be the matchup to look out for. I think Williams has been rushed back a bit too quickly but it will be interesting to see if he can put the new man-of-the-moment in his place.
I'd expect Haskell to go well, he often plays better when he has less decision making to do. Hopefully he won't just hang out in the backs, messing up their running lines.
Up front is where it'll be won, though, and if Sheridan is really back to full fitness it could be a long day for a Wales team without its front row superstars.

Byrne isn't match fit - and whilst Hook can play at 15 he is a better player in the middle influencing things (still not entirely sure where though, Shane Williams looked electric the other week for has 20 mins cameo - I think Wales losses up front will be their undoing and expect England to win - but as usual we will will the sing song b fore the match starts

Its going to be a very interesting 6 nations as Northern Hemisphere rugby is definitely moving in the right direction - but the long season seems to be killing off players on an almost daily basis.

Watching it with a couple of English mates so much banter and beer will be shared whatever happens.

Just seems a bit odd to me, Byrne isn't match fit - Rob Howley says, "Lee Byrne misses out solely by virtue of the fact he has had limited game-time after injury."
But on the other hand Williams is match fit after about 20 minutes played following shoulder surgery

In other news, nice to see Henson stay at Sarries for so long.

Warburton is very good, very physical. All he lacks is a little bit of guile.

Hook is not a full back. But he does possess a brain. 1 more than Byrne has.

Intelligent, measured display from England. Brainless one from Wales. Predictably dull stuff from Phillips, Byrne. Nothing from the Doctor at all.

Will be interesting to see the Ireland team tomorrow. I am not looking forward to it from a point of view of some big guns are missing but part of me is glad some good young players are getting a run out before the WC. The fullbacks could be electric if they click.

2 pretty definitive results yesterday.

Got butterflies for this one day. Revenge for last year hopefully.

Great game, pity about the result.

The triple crown will have to be enough

A lack of discipline cost you that game. France were very average and negative today.
